This works really well from killing my grass in my yard from the firepit heat. Built very well and looks really nice.

Using this heat shield under a chiminea on a composite deck. It works perfectly...no heat transfers under it.

Super heavy duty and very well made. The diamond plate fits perfectly over the base, in case you want to separate for any reason (cleaning or storage). The fit and finish is excellent. You get what you pay for.

I had my doubts about this protecting the ground. I had a really hot fire for about 3 hours and it didn't burn the grass underneath at all. The only damage to the grass was on the sides (I was burning sticks from the hard two handfulls at a time and they were spilling onto the grass. The only damage to the grass was on the edges. If I had just used larger logs all night I don't think anything would have fallen on the ground. I don't think I would trust this on a deck, but I don't think this will hurt concrete or grass underneath. The final picture is the next day after everything cooled down. I thought the diamond plate would discolor. It did not. It thought it would warp. It did not. I am very pleased and would purchase again.

I placed my chimaera on it. It keeps the heat from hurting our desk.

Much better built than I had thought. Very sturdy= heavy. But then, you don't want it to be light and support your fire pit. I'm happy with it it sold be better if it were black rather than chrome. But still good.

I have composite/vinyl decking--newly installed. Bought a gas flame tower for my deck and wanted to protect new deck from heat and rusting from the propane gas bannister onto the deck (which happened with my last deck). This item is not inexpensive, but is strong and holds the flame tower and gas tank without a problem. I think it will last forever, and am very satisfied with purchase
