Okocat, PLEASE make your litter more affordable!
This is literally the ONLY litter Iāve found that is well tolerated by my kitty that has asthma. Itās so clean and dust free. It does have an unusual odor but I scoop each box twice daily and change it completely when the odor starts getting strong. Itās a trade off Iām happy to make in exchange for my little asthma kitty being able to breathe freely. Another plus is the whiteness of the litter - it makes it very easy to see the kitty poo to scoop it out. Other brands of paper litter are dark grey and it can be difficult to spot the poo.Another thing I love about it is how lightweight it is. I got āadoptedā by a feral cat colony, got the mother cats spayed, but ended up bringing 5 of their kittens inside, so I have a LOT of litter boxes and on litter changing day, I really appreciate the light weight.Howeverā¦.Okocat just keeps going up, up, up on the price. Is recycled paper really THAT expensive to manufacture?! I just went to reorder and my usual boxes are out of stock (12.3 lbs for $22.99) and now a 11.3 lb bag is $28.99 (at Chewy). Six dollars more for a pound less of recycled paper product? I donāt know what Iām going to do. I canāt afford this but itās the only litter the kitty with asthma can use. Sheās struggling with an asthma spell right now from my last attempt to try a cheaper brand. So many cat owners have more cats than they can truly afford because they step up and care for the cats that other people threw - unneutered - outside. This is what happened to me, and now my compassion is causing me to go into debt. I just donāt think $28.99 for 11 lbs of recycled paper is a fair price.

Perfect for my uses
I'm a little annoyed with some of the negative reviews. This is a good product, and I don't want the company discouraged from making it.1) The litter box is a cat toilet that doesn't flush, so I scoop out the urine daily. If you do that, you won't problem with smell.2) Being a light color, it's easy to what is wet. If you use a scoop that has small, or no holes, you can identify and scoop 100% of the urine without much waste. This makes clumping not necessary. Flush the cat toilet daily and the urine won't evaporate back to the original color.3) Being small pellets are good for identifying and clearing efficiency, and the tradeoff is that they will track outside of the box. This isn't a problem though if you clean up the cat toilet routinely.4) Dust is very minimal, which is my most important requirement.Basically, if you aren't able to address your cat's litter box at least daily, this litter is not a solution for your application. If you can, it's 5-stars.

Light weight.
I like this but itās fairly dusty. Cats leaving foot prints on floors after use. But other than that itās a good litter

Smell is atrocious! Even though I scoop the urine kernels as best I can.
I have been trying different kitty litters in the last couple of years. Iād been using Ever Clean clay clumping litter for decades and been very happy with it but the dust got to be too much along with the tracking. So I have tried Feline Pine and all the Okocat Pine litters and now the Dust Free Okocat Paper litter. The dust free claim is true and overall the litter works great. The absorption was good, and the tracking pretty minimal. But sadly the smell from the used litter was incredibly strong. It literally smelled like there was a dead fish in my bathroom! In my new house the bathroom is tiny and itās very close to my bedroom so the smell was intolerable. I even went to the additional effort of scooping with a spoon as much of the urine soaked pellets as I could get instead of leaving them in the tray as directed, plus always having fresh air in the room. That effort just delayed the inevitable. The smell is just too much.Out of desperation I went back to clay litter. I am NOW using the EverFresh version of Ever Clean. It is less dusty than the original unscented multiple cat version, and the litter itself is heavy so it is tracking less. There is a mild chemical smell because of the activated charcoal which cuts down on the odor. But you do not smell the urine and you do not smell the feces, and it makes durable dense clumps.
