I love them!!!
I was a bit sceptical about this product because some of the reviews weren’t that good. But oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE these traps!! First of all, they look very beautiful at night, I really enjoy the fire effect. Secondly, they do catch insects. The photos I’ll be sharing are from Day 1 using this product, and already there are quite a few insects trapped. The only thing to bear in mind is that it doesn’t make much noise; it might seem like it’s not doing anything since you don’t hear or see anything, but if you take a closer look, you’ll notice quite a few mosquitoes. Thirdly, I saw quite a few comments complaining about the battery life. I didn’t track the exact time, but in my area it gets dark around 6 pm, and they were still working at midnight, so they seem to last quite a while. The only downside I can think of is that the plastic poles don’t feel very sturdy. We’ve placed them in spots where they’re not likely to be hit by much wind, and they seem fine for now, but I wouldn’t recommend exposing them to strong winds in your area.

Durable
I purchased these 6 years ago. They've been left outside year round, and they still work and look fantastic! However, they do nothing for bugs. They're more decorative than anything.

Not sure how to make them work?!
Will probably have to return which is annoying as it’s been hard to find an all around bug zapper that’s solar & has the lighting feature… But I cannot figure out how to make them work. There’s one unmarked button on the entire gadget that doesn’t blink or switch to an ‘on/off’ labeled marker, doesn’t make any sound or anything to elude to the customer that this product is now ‘on’.. Which honestly, I was expecting them to just automatically turn on & work on their own, using the AZ sunlight to keep themselves charged as they shouldn’t be using so much power that they’d need to be turned off anyway.. My Amazon ring uses solar power & has no on/off switch, it just keeps itself charged, so.. 🙄🤷🏼♀️ Either way, with no way to tell if they are on or working, no sounds, no lights, && just a flimsy plastic stake it sits on… This is starting to look like a junk purchase. Which is a shame as I purposely got these more expensive ones b/c I figured they’d be higher end & work better… Maybe next time I’ll just spend the few hundred bucks on that dura fly brand or whatever that at least appears to be made of sturdy metal materials… Sick of all the plastic junk in this world & sick of these totally bunk/junk Amazon purchases.. It seems everything I get on Amazon lately ends up just being a big inconvenient exercise/cycle of spending $$ only to have to return things…. Can’t tell if it’s on or off, doesn’t appear to be working & there’s nothing more than a single button to tinker with here… Brand new right out of the box & has had a full 24hrs. in the AZ sunlight to charge. . Hasn’t caught any bugs, no lights, nothing.. They don’t even stand upright on their crooked plastic stands so you have to use it as a small table top as the stakes in the ground work but the pole is so crooked & flimsy it just isn’t sturdy standing up on its own, especially if you have pets running around… Really kind of irritating that yet another Amazon purchase needs returning costing me extra time/money I don’t have. I even sit reading reviews on every product before choosing which of 100’s of options to buy & I still just keep getting some third party junk every time… Too bad in person stores don’t carry any inventory for options these days b/c im really beginning to hate online shopping. - Maybe skip this one & try another brand. I’d say one that has only good raving reviews but these had fairly good reviews & they’re still faulty crap apparently… Not sure if my bf just put them together incorrectly or if there’s some piece or something missing but it seemed pretty straight forward watching him unbox them & as stated, with nothing more than a single button, a couple of stakes, & the actual zappers themselves, im not sure what we could be missing here but they haven’t worked yet for me other than the one single bug one has stuck in it which appears to be more of a fluke than actual function of the zapper itself doing anything special as it would appear the big it did catch just flew into it & got stuck but not in the tray where they should end up, not getting ‘zapped’ per se… So idk. Will try asking my bf & putting on some shoes to go outside & tinker w/ it some more but it’d be nice if these things actually had any sort of indicator that they’re actually on & working or even that they’re switched off! Idk maybe an on/off switch that’s labeled as such instead of a single unmarked button with no on light or anything… If they continue to not show any signs of being ‘on’ by tomorrow, will def return.

Stylish Bug Zapper with Great Ambiance
The PIC Solar Insect Killer Torch (DFST) is a fantastic blend of style and function for outdoor spaces. Its flickering LED flame effect creates a warm, tiki-torch-like glow, perfect for patio ambiance, while the zapper effectively takes out bugs. The solar-powered design is eco-friendly, charging in sunlight and lasting up to 6 hours at night in our yard Pros: • Realistic flame effect • Solar-powered, eco-friendly, and cord-free • Adjustable heights for flexible placement Cons: • Pole is flimsy and doesn’t stand straight when fully extended • Bug tray is small and can be tricky to clean

Great quality but not so good insect control
Great quality and matches the patio furniture. Works well enough an creates ambiance with other string lights

Nice lamp, not great zapper
The torch looks realistic and pretty to look at when it comes on at night. The solar panel charge lasts much of the night. I really like that no wiring is needed and it can be placed anywhere. The pole is flimsy and the bottom prong can break in strong wind, but it also comes with a table-top mount and that is more useful. As a bug zapper it is not great. It does work, but only until it has enough bugs to short-out the circuit and you don't really know when that happened without close inspection. The grid has to be cleaned to restore service and that requires lots of brushing or compressed air. Can of air works well, but it gets costly. The grid voltage is relatively low for a bug zapper and does not cause a loud popping sound when bugs get zapped. The bug tray is too small and also difficult to pull out. So, not great as a bug zapper but a really nice torch lamp. Kind of expensive only as a lamp, though. Update: Stopped working completely after a couple of months. Apparently the switch is not weatherproof. Started working again after replacing the switch with a better one.

Pretty flame-like torches, long-lasting solar power
These long-lasting solar torches with flame effect look great on our decks. Don't know about the insect-killing effectiveness, because we live on the lake, and it is too large an area to eliminate all the insects.

Great for ambience lighting - NOT for any type of bug control
I purchased one from Lowe’s and like most reviews state, they look great! 2-stars is strictly for the great look. If they were marketed as ambient lighting for backyard and “may” attract a bug, may not, then I would rate it better. I think a $20-25 price point would be reasonable for this item Vs the $39.99 they charge, I find that very steep for the quality of the item. Needless to say, when I was at Lowe’s Hardware, they only had 1 left in stock, so I ordered two here hoping that having three would assist with the bugs in our backyard since they say 1/2 acre per device protection. Sadly, I received them today and it was obvious I was sent previously returned items. There wasn’t the table stand piece in either box that they say are included and one box the lantern was covered and the other was uncovered and scratched. Along with the items were all free flowing in the boxes without any stability within the boxes. Quite disappointing. I then realized when I took one of them to my backyard to compare to my in-store purchase; the amazon lanterns are about a foot shorter when utilizing all posts and the post isn’t as sturdy as the solid one-piece from in-store. I cannot speak on the bug zapping ability to the two I got here on Amazon, as I am returning these the same day received. I can say the one I bought in-store I have now had for 3-days and there isn’t one bug on the tray at all, and there are plenty to “zap/attract”. Yes it’s placed away from any other lights, yes it’s the brightest light to attract bugs and NO it still hasn’t done any bug control. I don’t recommend purchasing for bug control, but if you want ambience and enjoy the flickering tiki torch look, these are great for that.

Delivered as promised on time.
They add ambience to my patio after dark and I haven't seen a mosquito. Great product for the price.

Not sure how it is with bugs because it comes on after dark. But it's pretty
I wish there was a option to turn on during daylight hours.

Works, but not that great
The solar panel feature is nice but it doesn't come on automatically at sundown most of the time (have to press a button) and it does not attract or kill many bugs. I am unimpressed.

Not a bug attraction
This is a beautiful light up torch but doesn’t attract bugs. Not with it. We bought 2 more just for decoration. Find other light to use

Worked at first but
You can't tell when it is charging nor can you tell when it is on or not. I got it to work one night, but since then it has not charged or turned on. Too bad it's past the return time.
