desertcart.com: Nitoms S4101 STALOGY Notebook, A5, Squared, 365 Days Notebook, Black : Books Review: Great for life-tracking, smooth paper, lays flat, solid value - I’m really enjoying the Nitoms S4101 STALOGY 365 Days Notebook. The white-tone paper is smooth and the A5 size is perfect for everyday carry. I use it for life tracking, and the square grid makes layouts and habit logs easy. The craftsmanship feels high quality, it lies quite flat, and at around $20 it’s a great value, cheaper than a Hobonichi planner, so you can build your own planner/tracker style without paying premium prices. Cons: the paper is thin, ink rarely bleeds, but there’s noticeable show-through (ghosting), and highlighters can bleed. Overall, a pleasure to use and a smart budget-friendly alternative for custom planning. Recommended. Review: amazing, so glad I got this, waxing poetic - A year ago, I would have never believed I would even purchase, let alone love, a notebook like this. It notoriously ghosts, but I actually have come to love even that about the paper. Before, I think I conflated ghosting and bleeding - that one implied the other. Or that ghosting would mean you can't read what's on the current page. But none of that is true. This proprietary paper does ghost because each sheet is so thin, but it does not bleed (with almost all the pens I use - namely gel and fountain). And the thinness of the paper allows for so many more pages in one book so it will last so much longer than a standard book. I am a total convert, I love this notebook so much. The grid in the A5 is perfect - 4mm and super light but still visible enough. Sure the dates at the top are impossibly small but they're easy enough to ignore or use if you want. One thing that really irritates me about Stalogy in general, however, is that the printed grid size is not consistent between their notebooks. I love the smaller 4mm grid in the A5 but I want to try a B6 size notebook but B6 and A6 only have the bigger 5mm grid. I can't find anywhere that explains why this is the case, and I can't think of any logical reason why the smaller dimension notebooks don't also have the smaller printed grid inside.

My favorite notebook! Even with watercolors!
My favorite notebook. Pages are thin, which I like. There will definitely be ghosting - so if that bothers you, you will not want this notebook. I love it though. It holds up well to watercolor & Posca paint markers. It wrinkles, but not too much. High quality, smooth paper.

Love the thin but strong paper and the grid's barely visibility!
I love these notebooks because the paper is thin enough to give me that satisfying feeling, and yet also does not bleed through with the type of pens I use. (Always use the very back page as a tester page to see if your favorite pens and markers work!) I go back to this brand and type time and again when I need another journal or notebook to keep track of things, and it's lightweight enough that I can keep it in my bag without worrying it's weighing me down. It writes very smoothly with my pen and does not smear or blur with time! I also love the pale small grid paper as it lets me use it in any way that I please! The grid is faint enough to look blank from a distance, but just barely visible enough to help keep my writing in a straight line and looking very proper! I'll keep going back to these again and again!

W Notebook
The quality of the notebook itself is nice. The pages are very thin but I actually like that, I’m surprised that ink doesn’t bleed through. I like that it has mini calendar. I still use this for my everyday journaling.

Excellent! Finally found my planner!
First, the cons: Yes, the Calendar spot up along the header is almost laughably tiny. You would need some kind of magnifying glass to get much use out of it. That’s it. Pros: I use this as a hobonichi dupe and I’m very pleased with the paper. The grid is sometimes difficult to see, so for someone who wants a darker print, you’ll definitely need to look elsewhere. When in good light, I can see the grid just fine. I kind of like that it isn’t obtrusive visually. I use this as both a planner and a diary, and use watercolor, pens, ink, etc. You will see minimal bleed through on the back of the page, but not to the extent that it interferes with me writing on it. The paper is smooth and lovely to write on— much like the hobonichi I used last year. I like having more open space to write on, which is why I opted for the bigger size, but if you’re looking for a closer dupe to Hobonichi planners, go for the smaller one! Above everything else, the price is right. I had to stop buying hobonichi because I couldn’t justify it in my budget. This planner book was in my range and a perfect substitution for my needs. Definitely recommend! Will be buying again for next year.

Great book. Bleeds a bit with fountain pens.
Great little notebook of Tomoe River paper. I have no idea why people keep saying tomoe river paper doesn't bleed. ALL of it bleeds with fountain pens. Every pen, nib, and ink I have shows ghosts and bleeds. This happens on 52gsm Tomoe, and 68gsm Tomoe. It doesn't bother me too much, but its odd that so many people say this doesn't bleed... It ALL bleeds. Shows a sheen really well if you have a nice sheening ink.

It is. Without question the best writing paper even. Way thinner than my previous preferred notebook paper; sorry Midori, you're done. 99% no ghosting when using an extra fine nib and a full 90% ghostless even when using a medium nib. Smooth writing. Zero feathering or bleed. When using pencil the paper is resistant enough to take repeated erarure and remain clean.

È un notebook veramente speciale con una carta fantastica. Lo conoscevo già e a parte il prezzo che è veramente altino penso che lo andrò a comprare nuovamente lo consiglio a tutti gli amanti della Cartoleria

Excellent diary/notebook. In my opinion, it is even better than the Hobonichi and at half the price and bigger size, there is no contest for me. I use a fountain pen and the paper, which is lovely and thin, has almost no show-through and no bleeding, even with deep shades and a wet line. The downside is that the days and dates are in such a minute font, and a very pale grey, which makes them almost unreadable and pointless, so I write the date at the head of each page instead. If you like using the planning options within the Hobonichi, which are excellent, then this does not have those options and will not be for you. I absolutely love it!!
