Second black Diamond I’ve purchased. First one lasted 7 years and I’m not easy on ‘em! So far this one has been great!

Works great. I hope they keep making stuff like this.

Very bright and adjustable

This lamp is very bright and has awesome battery life. I love that there are so many colors and modes. Particularly green as it gives the best visibility while preserving your night vision best. As a service member, I needed a headlamp that would dim green, and when I turn on and off, remember the last settings and remain dim and green. Its the only lamp I've found that does that. I have had some issues with the capacitive auto bright feature. I do very much wish that I could disable that. Not only is it not tactical, you risk blowing out your rhodopsin and blinding yourself and everyone around you if you touch the thing in the wrong place. That being said I have had several lamps and this one has the best battery life with options for decently bright and the color green.

I love this headlamp. It is really powerful on its highest brightness setting. Just be cautioned that if you leave it on the brightest setting, the battery will drain quicker. That is compounded when the temps are cold. But I think this is something you’ll encounter with many of the headlamps on the market.I have taken this camping in Yellowstone, in my neighborhood, and have also used it to search for bugs or for hunting. It is multi-purposed and has great longevity. Just pack some extra batteries.

I've had 2 of these now: same issue. The locking plastic clip that secures the batteries broke. It's such a simple thing and literally the only piece that needs to not break. Why not make the clip out of metal, at least? It's the ONLY real stress piece that needs beefing up. And without that clip, the whole unit is useless. Shame, because I love the headlamp and features.....but can't use it with this stupid little clip. this new one, I ordered in April 2024, only used it 1-3x/week for outdoor things around the house. It has NOT seen hard use of any kind. I babied the crap out of it, never let it scratch anything or bump up or smack, AND I bought a hard case for it to keep it safe while just sitting in my drawer or in it's proper pocket in backpack (purposely not thrown in bottom to avoid any weight on headlamp even while in case), NOTHING! Still broke within a few uses. That's insanely bad quality and engineering.Buy Petzl or another quality brand, because BD has fallen. Literally the most important piece on the headlamp and it was barely touched or used, stored proper, babied purposely, and the same fail point failed again. What the hell? Shame, because I like the headlamp and features, but it's USELESS as is. And now I'm out money and have to buy another damn headlamp. I have a crappy walmart energizer headlamp that has lasted for over a decade, but big bad Black Diamond can't make a better design or metal clip and make it last for even a year? Embarassing.

Ran a Spartan Ultra and rules state if headlamp needed and you are not wearing one you will be pulled from the course and get a DNF, this headlamp not only did the job but was very bright for running over some rough terrain, rocks, gravel, dirt etc..

Disoriented in a 1000 acres woods after tracking my Bow hunting trophy. Needed to hike out and come back in the morning. After using for 3 hours? Hung my headlight in flashing mode from a tree and hiked out. 12hours latter hiked back in, still flashing. Nice
