No instructions!
This works but you have to work out how to use it yourself because there are no instructions whatsoever. Just a small pot of hard balm and a little prickly pad. So you wiggle and swipe the brushes in the balm and then same on the pad and it works but it’s harder and not so effective with big brushes and you have to rinse the pad inbetween brushes.

Great gentle and effective cleanser set!
I myself have real technique brushes and sponges, and paired with the same branded cleanser I hoped for the best and it truly is the best I’ve used! It’s also fab for people who have sensitive skin like me, when used correctly the balm lathers well and gets into the brushes and sponges deeply and once again effectively, and lastly it’s even better that it has a mini travel friendly tool to use with your brushes! Can’t personally fault it, esp compared to using soap before, this really does work and I recommend.

Easy use
This product is very compact and easy to use. You can bring it on holiday as it is so small and light. Brushes were clean in no time and ready for use.

Okay, but not brilliant
There are no instructions with this, apart from “use with warm water” so it’s trial and error. Some websites suggest rubbing the bristles in the balm first, then adding water, but this didn’t pick up enough balm to create any suds to clean the brushes. I found the best method was wetting the brush, then picking up some balm with the bristles and swirling it in the lid with the silicone pad (figure of 8 motion works best), adding a bit of warm water, then rinse them well under a warm tap. When I had finished, I rinsed the balm under cold water and turned the balm and lid upside down to drain out all the dirty, sudsy water before putting the lid back on.The brushes ended up soft but not totally clean. I had to repeat the above process several times, and they still had makeup residue in the bristles when I was laying them out to dry. The handles of the brushes still have makeup all over, even after using the suds of this to clean them.I would prefer if the cleaning balm was a bit softer (to pick more up with a dry brush) and if the spiky silicone pad fitted exactly into the lid - it’s a bit tricky to swirl the brushes with the pad moving around. It worked best on smaller brushes as the silicone bits are long enough to get deep into the bristles. Bigger brushes took multiple cleans and a lot longer to get all the makeup out - I tried the silicone pad out of the lid but it wasn’t really big enough for wider brushes.I chose this product because I have Real Techniques brushes so thought it would work the best if it’s designed by the same company. I’m a bit disappointed for the money paid, I expected this to work better and faster than it did. I wish I’d opted for the isoClean solution which has brilliant reviews, but is more expensive.

Not a dupe for Beauty Blender solid charcoal cleanser
I thought this would be a cheaper version of the Beauty Blender solid charcoal cleanser (10x more expensive) but unfortunately it's not. It's a hard gel substance that I struggle to pick up enough of to wash either the beauty blender or any brushes. Even using with the amazing Sigma glove, my brushes came out dirty. Not even gonna bother even using the rest of it up.I reverted to using Fairy Liquid antibac solution and that's been better than any dedicated product I've found. (My problem with the Beauty Blender one is that while it's brill for cleaning brushes and blenders, it's expensive and disintegrates near the end rendering it messy and useless.)Not sure if anyone has found any other brush and blender cleanser that can work as well as Fairy Liquid solution. I love the solid option to swirl the brushes in, but ideally something not as punchy as £40+.
