Malco C4R 5-Blade Downspout Crimper

Have noticed Amaz is not always the cheapest now on stuff. ----------------------------- Orig Review 2014: I've wrestled with a few downspouts in my time and just completed a two day project on my house. This is first time I popped for buying some gutter crimpers. So glad I did and wondered why I didn't do it decades ago! I researched carefully before buying for a quality tool that would deliver. I used these on steel downspouts and made cutting /sizing /connecting downspouts a breeze and eliminated pinched /cut fingers tips when joining tough cut/ ragged downspout edges. I figure I saved four hundred in doing the job myself so treated myself to this Malco C4R tool. Strong, well built and easy to use. Handles tougher steel downspouts with ease and aluminum without a sweat. The 3 finger over 2 finger configuration is the way to go and pleased as punch at the time & aggravation these saved me. These are so well build I actually just enjoy looking at them and admiring the engineering that went into this crimper. Am looking for other ways of using these crimpers. SIX stars on this Malco C4R crimper!

Pricey but they get the job done. Needed them wen revising all the aluminum downspouts at home. If I had to do it again, I might order he longer version, but I’ve learned to use these to suit my purposes very well. Saved me more than they cost me, plus I can get the work done properly.

If you believe time = money, you will come out ahead vs using needle nose pliers to crimp gutter runs. Quality tools are not cheap! They are sharp so practice a little before you dive in so you get a feel for the amount of pressure you need to exert to crimp, NOT CUT. Great for stove pipe as well.

Gets you the crimp needed to stick two pieces together after cutting.

Works as advertised. Easy to make corner crimps. If too much force is applied it will rupture the gutter material after crimping. Would have given it 5 stars if lower jaw would have been thicker.

The quality and fitness of the tool is great, compared to $ 24 dollars cheaper ones is a great difference, this tool is worth the money, is very solid build, I'm very happy with my purchase, you won't regret paying the extra money for the tool.

This tool is fantastic. I had previously tried to direct a downspout to a cistern, but because I had used only pliers to bend in the downspout to make a connection, I had to bend it in too much, which created two problems: one was it clogged with leaves, and the other was it was hard to catch the inside downspout with a rivet. Of course the horizontal span of about 8 feet got completely clogged and then the whole thing fell. (Probably didn't pitch it enough, either.) Redid the job this weekend, using this tool, and it went a thousand times better. FYI, used it on 4" gutter.

Crimps arrived on time, well packaged, as described. They provide great consistent crimps on downspout and elbows! Will be buying more of these for the truck.

It worked great on my downspouts. Cheaper than hiring a contractor, who never show up anyway. Easy tool to use. Great Purchase.

I decided to get this tool as I started doing more downspout jobs. I used to just crimp the ends with whatever barbaric methods I could think of, which didn't give ideal results and also took a minute or two. This tool allows me to crimp a downspout on all 4 corners in about 10 seconds, which makes for a perfect fit to effortlessly slide it into another piece. This tool will pay for itself easily with the time and frustration it saves me.

Must have tool for gutter work.
