Perfect size for my cats pills. He’s able to eat it with his wet food without even knowing he’s eating it.

Following the lead of some of the folks leaving reviews and answering questions for a pill gun for pets, I bought these to get tiny pills into my cat. The pills were too small to fit properly in the pill gun, so often they would fall out, or the plunger would just slide past them and leave them in the tip instead of down the cat's throat. Many pills for cats have to be cut into half or even quarters (use a pill cutter!) due to cats' small size, so finding a way to reliably get medicine in my cat has been difficult. And then I found these! Size 5 works great for quarter pills and are easy to put in the capsules. I am so pleased that she's getting the medication she needs and I don't have to try to pill her repeatedly as she gets more and more upset. Some commenters said that Size 5 was a little too small, so to be on the safe side, I recommend getting both Size 4 and Size 5 to determine which fits your pills best.

It's hard to determine just how small or large these capsules are just by looking at it online. As far as the capsules go, they are a good product. I have to give my cat 1/2 of a 24 mg tablet of Cerenia and I thought size 5 would allow me to put the half tablet inside if I cut the half in smaller pieces. Splitting a 24 mg tablet is easy. Splitting the half tablet is also easy with a pill cutter. Cutting anything smaller causes the pill to shatter and it's really hard to put it in this small of of capsule. What I found was easier is use my size 3 capsule which I already have on hand and cut a little off the longer end of the pulled apart capsule, cut my half tablet in half and it easily goes into the size 3 capsule. After attaching the other end it makes it about the same length as the size 5 but a little fatter. It still is easy for my cat to swallow.

These are nice capsules and make meds be easier for my Mom. These are small, brightly colored, easy to swallow. She has more than one pill that needs to be cut and they are so small, easy to lose or drop. These go right down the hatch!Since there are other colors, it makes keeping track easier. This size is quite small, and only the small bit of pill fits into it. This is small enough that you could probably pull a cat with it.

These capsules are the perfect size to give to my cat. He is on medication for his heart. I break up the pill and put it in these size 5 capsules. Then I coat the capsule in wet cat food and get a small blanket and wrap up my cat so his head only sticks out. Then I open his mouth and place the capsule in the back of his mouth as far as I can. I hold his mouth closed and gently blow on his nose and rub his throat until I know for sure that he swallowed the capsule. I bought the pink ones so I can see them. At first I thought they were to big but they are perfect size. I'm so happy I got these. I purchased the size 4 also but they are larger. I can't return them so I'll keep them just in case I run out of the size 5. But I recommend the size 5 for cats. It was so hard trying to give him medication in his food. He would smell it and walk away. I highly recommend these size 5 capsules.

BARIATRIC PATIENTS!!! (and everyone who need to fill their own). I have to crush my 9 (yes 9) pills daily. I was having such a hard time taking them crushed it was almost depressing to take them. They tasted so incredibly awful. I don’t remember how I came across these but I almost cried when I found them! It’s like a dream. (If you’ve ever had to take them crushed you’ll agree with me). I bought three different sizes of capsules. Now mind you, it’s not a quick process and it’s delicate. Take your time and it’s doable. I also bought a “filling” kit with spoons and tampers. Make sure you buy a kit with a holder because it is difficult to hold them. You will be sooo relieved to find these. If there was 10 stars I would click it.
