Blaupunkt Philadelphia 845 Navigation Receiver

The first one I got turned out to have SW issues but Crutchfield replaced it no questions asked and fast, once I described the issues. Got the replacement installed (if you've never installed on, it's a breeze!) and although I wasn't super impressed with it's functions, and it seemed a little dated, it's turned out to be pretty dang good, especially for the price. Everything works really well, there are in incredible amount of options to tweak almost every function and even has been easy to get somewhat tuned for the Dynaudio amp and speakers.The red control color matches the red controls of the car too, although there are a lot of other color options.This went in a 2006 Passat 3.6 Luxury. It looks OEM, fits like a glove including within the trim.It's got a lot of options for add-ons, except satellite radio which in our case we didn't have enabled with the OEM so that's not a problem. If you have aftermarket speakers and/or amp it's got the connections for that as well as some adjustable controls. I don't have a camera connected but that's straightforward.It's nice to be able to instantly switch music selections from radio, to phone to SD card to CD with a push of a physical button, soft buttons or cycle via another soft selector.I didn't use the external mic because the built in is great, it's very clear and picks up everything without having to be speaking right into it, or even in it's direction.Navigation works great, although not the same super slick graphics as newer systems, but those run many times more than this unit total.If I had to pick it apart it would be that it's Blaupunkt, German name but as the brands says, "Established in Germany? This unit is made in China as you might expect. The only quality concern is the on-off/volume button. It's fine, but if I were going to use it constantly, to me I'd be careful. It's my daughter car and it doesn't get power on and off but it may not be an issue.Some mention the China sourced similar units, and this may come form the same manufacturers, but it won't look and fit like OEM like this does. It really does look that good. For the price it's a fantastic OEM replcement.FYI, the connectors work great form the OEM harness to the unit. The only issue I had was the radio antenna. The OEM has an integrated radio/sat radio connector and this only has a radio which isn't a problem. The problem is that the connector on this, is reverse orientation to the OEM so you have to flip it and force them together. It goes together easily and is secure, but I would have thought the connectors would be oriented correctly.I'd highly recommend this as a replacement for the OEM, sticky button head-unit that's well priced too!

Amazing aftermarket stereo for VW's. If you have anything other than the premium audio system in your VW, this is a terrific upgrade. For $350 it is an absolute no brainer (IMO).We put this unit in my wife's 2013 VW Beetle (base model, no steering wheel controls), and it was truly plug and play. Outside of the time it takes to remove the trim plates around the stereo and the vents, it takes 4 screws and about 10 minutes to install. It plugs directly into the factory harness and can run just like that, assuming you don't have any additional addons, like a a backup camera, monitors for the back seat, etc.*NOTE* The one thing from your factory stereo that will no longer work is your aux port. It has an input on the front of the unit to use in its place.It integrates with factory parking sensors, steering wheel controls, climate controls, etc and has a display for most of them. The GPS is fast and accurate, if perhaps not as pretty as some. I was not impressed with the voices, but they do give you a lot of choices including choices for other languages.You can use your ipod, a USB thumb drive or an SDHC card for your music - or even all 3.It does work with after market backup cameras, but our Beetle did not come with a factory one, so I am not sure if that would work out of the box.If you have a larger vehicle and want rear seat screens, it has video out for them. It has a CD / DVD player, in case you were not aware.It also has connectors to go out to an amplifier for 3 sets of speakers and a subwoofer.I have really only gone over the basics, but that should give you a taste of what it is capable of. If (unlike me), you have a nicer car with all the bells and whistles, this stereo would truly shine. I cannot recommend it enough.

So amazing, I both it fo my 2009 gli jetta, and woks perfectly, also works with a back up camera, i am so happy, touch screen are so sensible... Terrific radio

Easy install. Vw jetta 2010. Works with steering wheel buttons. A no brainer.

Awesome Radio!!!!

I received the system in good condition, but pain started when fitted in the car. Disc was not working, video display did not work and finally the navigation system did not respond. It wasted my time and money spent on installation and visiting blaupunkt service station was wasted. I am seriously repenting for this online shopping. Now I returned the product and waiting for reverse pickup. Will have some consolation after getting the money back.
