Tastes great!

This is one of the better tasting Mountain House meals. It's one of the kids' favorites. As with most of these freeze dried meals though, the amount of water and time it says to let sit varies. I've found with this, you need to let it "cook" longer in the hot water than the instructions say otherwise your macaroni may be a little crunchy. You might also want to add a little bit of extra water. But the taste is good and the price is also lower compared to some of the other meals by the same company. Another quality product from Mountain House. Easy to make, and tasty and filling. I'm happy with this emergency/camping food.

My son and I love a good ruck and camp. I buy a can and split it up into smaller bags to mix up over the boiled water from the pocket jet stove.Honestly, the stuff is so good it can be eaten as a snack without water if you wish. Or add less water for a thicker paste and some low carb tortillas for enchiladas by the fire.Solid Calorie and nutrition count make this an excellent choice for the trail or impending zombie apocalypse. ;)

I'm not sure why the description states it's gluten-free because the ingredients clearly show a wheat warning. Good brand, quality product, shelf life of 30 years but once the can is open, consume it within a week. So, if you just want to try it, you should plan to eat the entire can within a few days of opening it. This will be great for a few friends camping together and easy a quick chili mac meal around the fire in the evening after fun activities all day! It's also great for the prepper who is stocking the bunker or emergency food stock. It's a very lightweight can and doesn't take up much space. The plastic lid on top has a small lip around the edge which makes stacking cans in a column easy and safe.

Here is a product that not only taste great, has a high nutritional value, not fake in any manner, but easy to make with just water. Quicker if you have heat but just as tasty with or without. Great value for the buck.

Mountain House is the best tasting of all the different freeze dried food manufacturers. Chili Mac is one of my favorites. The number 10 cans are rated for 30 years but from what I've heard it's more like 50 years. Food will always go up in price. One can has several meals in it. I'm happy with it.
