QMx Star Trek: Voyager Communicator Badge

This communicator is simply beautiful! Well made, and the magnetic back is such a nice design, as it will not put holes in your costume. Keep in mind, that this also means you should be careful not to bump it, as you might knock it off, although the magnet is fairly strong. (by the way, if you wear a pacemaker, you probably shouldn't use this one)Now, in regard to this (as many communicators like it) being highly polished and shiny, compared to the ones you see on TV and in the movies- If Star Trek were a real-life thing, this is most likely exactly what you would see on the uniform. Anyone with military experience knows, that rank and insignia are highly polished (except in tactical uniforms to prevent reflection obviously) The most likely reason they used non-reflective resin rank and insignia on the shows and movies is simple- they would constantly be plagued with the camera crew's reflections being visible in the communicators, as well as stage lighting reflecting off of it. To get around this, they used non-reflective materials for them. But if somehow the crew of the Enterprise beamed into real-life existence, They would most likely be shiny and pretty like this product. :)

Thought I was getting a box of badges for that price. I was annoyed when I found it it was only one...until I got it in the mail. The quality blew me away I was expecting plastic or tin with shiny paint on it. Nope. It's solid, heavy metal. Looks like they stole it off the set. Could easily pass for the real thing. The magnet is amazingly strong, and will not come loose easily. The only thing I did was add a magnet so the badge can't "rotate." It stays on my safety vest, but it could go on anything. Definitely worth every cent.

I just got this in today and I cannot describe how much I love this thing. So I used to own a communicator pin (TNG) but eventually it just got old, banged up, and it popped holes in all my clothes. I've been wanting a Voyager pin for a long time because Voyager is my favorite Star Trek series but sadly they are pretty hard to find. You can get Voyager pins but most are really only for cosplay and are made like the ones in the show (the ones in the show are painted resin). When I saw that QMX had some I was extremely excited but that excitement left as soon as I saw they were sold out on the QMX website. Thankfully Amazon had some and I was able to get ahold of it!The pin is not screen accurate because in order to make it screen accurate it would be more of a cosplay item. This pin is shiny and is designed to be worn as a jewelry item. The magnets are extremely strong and as you can see in the pictures below they attach on my leather motorcycle jacket and stays in place just fine. The pin is accurate to Voyager and it does look exactly like the pins in the show except that it's a very metallic shiny. It's a beautiful pin and i'm so happy that I can wear this without it popping holes into my clothes.

This Star Trek Com Badge Is Amazing! I purchased a Voyager style communicator badge back in the 90's that had the military clasps that went through your shirt. Over time a few of my shirts were ruined. Not with this badge! The overall workmanship of this badge it is much thicker and more solid than my original com badge. So happy with this purchase, I bought 3 more for my kids! Magnet is super strong and won't come off easily. have it stuck to the fridge when not in use. Over all I was extremely impressed with this product. I would highly recommend. :)

i brought this for my boyfriends parents and they loved it. the metal surface reflected my face when i looked into it and reminded me of my ROTC pins (army pins which i had to wear on my uniform for army drilling) and it the ONLY SLIGHT complaint i have is while knowing it was going to be magnetic, i thought it would be stronger (my expectations were that of magnets from home depot that can handle 20 sheets of paper without a problem) but they still are strong enough for clothing and stayed in place better than i thought they would. also if it were mine, id use a heavy duty magnet since im constantly shuffling my backpack and moving about. but otherwise, high quality and a good size (i thought itd be really small even looking at the measurements). it was very worth the price.

It is a lot shinier than in the show. But the colors are spot on, just have a mirror like surface. It does make it somewhat "dressier" for everyday wear and not just for a costume. I'll definitely be wearing it often. It has a good weight to it and a very strong magnet to attach it to your shirt. Nice not to have to poke pins through your clothing. It's well worth the 20 bucks for any Star Trek fan.OK, so after almost a year of wear (wore it maybe once every week) the magnet came unglued from the back of the badge. Was easy to fix though with a little e6000. Still recommend this product with 5 stars.

Great looking item. I purchased one similar several years ago that had two pin backs. I love the magnetic version! The packaging states the history of this style communicator and claims original molds were used for this product. I love it and I'll keep the pin version on the headliner in my car. But with this one... well, I've been known to wear this to the dinner table. It looks just as shinny as in the pictures, so not quite the same look as what you see with production finish. I'm sure if they could control glare, this is what they would like though. (Now that I read this, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first to mention this) Thank you!

I have several Quantum pieces and the quality is spot on! The metal is well crafted and the magnets are strong. It's a welcome addition to my collection. The two downfalls are that it's heavy, which makes it durable so that's easily overlooked but could cause an issue if you're planning on using it for a convention uniform. The other negative is the silver Delta is not the matte like on the show... So it's not an exact replica but hey... You're getting a well crafted and solid piece, with weight and one small discrepancy... Got for it! I love mine.
