Tales of Oliver Pig: Level 2 (Oliver and Amanda) Paperback – September 1, 1983

As an elementary school librarian I loved reading these stories to first graders, and now they give just as much pleasure to me and my four year old grandsons. Oliver--about 3, and Amanda--about 1 in this, the first book, are regular kids who grow up throughout the series and deal with ordinary situations with humor and parental guidance. I also love that Grandmother becomes an integral part of their lives as the series progresses. With first graders I always shared several of the bedtime stories which were the last story in the book of some titles, and the children thought they were hilarious.

My five year old loves to have this story read to him. He thinks the parts with the little sister are very funny. I imagine that is the attraction, but for whatever reason he delights in hearing it over and over and over again. It is a very cute book and I have gotten him others in the series as well. I read it for "company" the other night (a three year old) and she must have enjoyed it as well because the next time she went to the library she asked her mom to check it out for her. I don't think you can go wrong for the preschool/kindergarten crowd.

An entertaining book for young children that is phenomenally relatable for parents.Book arrived quickly and as described. Very satisfied!

Love this book! Exactly as I remembered it from childhood. I love reading it to my 4 year old. She really enjoys it and likes the pictures.

A wonderful addition to any child's library. I'm so pleased at the price and quality of this touching story book. I would most certainly purchase this again. My little one loves reading this book!

Family favorites! All of the Jean Van Leeuwen books are great, these are our favorites. This author reminds me of Beverly Cleary, they just understand children and families.

I remember them from my childhood, and am now reading the stories to my daughter. The series has a great sense of humor, especially pertaining to parenting challenges and sibling interactions.

What a great book for children, read it more times then i can remember, the stories are just wonderful, a good book to pass on, which i have done now for my grand children!

オチというオチはありませんし･･･私たちのすぐ身近にある子供･家族の日常のお話しですが･･･優しい雰囲気で、どこかホッとさせてくれるああこう言う家族って良いなって思わせてくれる絵本です。今我が家の４歳の子がはまってます＾＾お兄ちゃんブタOliverは妹に優しくできなかったり･･･おもちゃを貸してあげれなかったり、妹が持ってた本を取っちゃったして･･･泣かせちゃう仲良くするって、お互いに助け合うって良いことじゃない？とお父さんに聞かれても････そんなOliver君だけど･･･やっぱりお兄ちゃんだからこそ分かる妹の気持ちもあるんだよね。
