Elac gives you entry level, high end speakers at mass market prices. This center speaker replaces a 25 year old PSB. It is superior in all ways. I like accurate, clean sound. It delivers. The speaker is quite large and can move plenty of air giving you the "wall of sound". The better the amplification, the better the sound as well. That is another sign of a good speaker.

My neighbor and I are older and not wiser types, and we have 5 home theater systems between us. So we enjoy the endless quest for musical perfection, (within means) and have a lot of fun competing in unison in the journey to musical Mecca. We are definitely old school, and enjoy the old legacy stuff that was beyond our means while raising kids and paying mortgages. Steve Gutenberg is our hero, and has given us years of guidance, and discussion in sorting thru the throngs of good stuff out there, to the speakers we deem as magical. When I say magic I am talking about the speakers that immediately jump out and grab the spotlight, and there is no denying they have superior sound. Well the ELAC Debut 2.0 C5.2 Center is a true standout, and is an undisputed champion. Another reviewer called it the Holy Grail of centers and I confidently second that. What is interesting is the way the speaker projects the vocals, it fills the void in the center of the room. It is almost holographic, and very rich and vibrant, like a lead singer in the band morphing in your living room. It swiftly replaced my older Boston acoustic VR-10 center, and that is a tall order, but it really is, that good. It is not a small speaker, but has enough "cajones" to fill the center stage wonderfully. We have placed this speaker into 4 of the 5 systems and the improvement was significant in all cases. It just seems to meld into each system and sounds subtlety unique in each configuration, what a great quality! Giving it some juice only makes it feel larger, fuller and clearer as it blossom's and fills the room with sweet velvety goodness. Needless to say my buddy ordered one that night as well, this center easily checks all the boxes, and adds a new one called emotion, (that smile on your face, as your head bobs with the jams) . If your system is a little yawnish (not spectacular), and needs something to bring it up wow standards, just drop one of these baby's into the mix and enjoy the upgrade. NO Regrets, No turning back. It's a super great value. If you are starting with a new system, go ahead and pick your other speakers, what ever they are, but reserve the center spot for this future "Hall of Fame" Elac!

I recently upgraded the front speakers of my surround system to ELACs. I’m very happy with that decision. This center speaker is a beast! I paired it with the B6.2 bookshelf speakers. I was afraid the C6.2 would be too big. This C5.2 is quite large but it fits nicely without having to raise the tv too much. Sound quality is outstanding connected to my Onkyo TX-NR 686. The new Debut 3.0 series has a more modern look but with the price reduction the 2.0 cannot be beat! I also really like the front ported design of these as my room requires placement very close to the wall. That reduces distortion. If you’re on the fence, give these a try
