Hi, we have for sale a new Stereo Speaker Selector Box. Switch an audio source from Speaker Set A to Speaker Set B or Combine Both (A+B Speakers please check for impedance compatibility with your amplifier when using A+B). This can be useful if you have speakers wired to another area in your home but have one audio source.

Works Great, with restriction
Works great with a few clarifying details: (based on analysis of internal wiring and verification on my system) Case 1: Spkr 1 on, Spkr 2 off works fine, virtually no crosstalk. from spkr 1 into spkr 2. Case 2: Spkr 1 off, Spkr 2 on will likely "crosstalk" back into spkr 1..As a result, I suggest you hook up you Main speakers to Spkr 2 and "remote speakers" (e.g., patio) to Spkr 1. (sort of intuitively backwards) ,(This difference results from effectively grounding the "floating" spkr 2 leads when spkr 1 is on and spkr 2 is off. But when spkr 2 is on and spkr 1 is off, the spkr 1 leads "float" and crosstallk can occur (considerable in my system).Case 3; Turning both Spkr 1 and Spkr 2 off leave all speakers disconnected from amplifier--shouldn't be a problem on a solid state amp. Tube amps may not like this condition.Case 4: Turning both Spkr 1 and Spkr 2 on puts the all the left channel speakers in series and all right channel speakers in series. Net, all speakers will play with reduced volume, but this solution provides needed protection for the amplifier from the alternative (alternative being running the speakers in parallel--bad in my set up as my speakers are 4 and 6 ohm.) without need for resistors or impedence matching transformers.

This speaker selector is fine when just playing speaker A or Speaker B
This speaker selector is fine when just playing speaker A or Speaker B, you will get full power from your amplifier. But if you Play A and B simultaneously, the speaker switches are wired in series mode, which cuts available amplifier power in half. Then since both sets of speakers are playing simultaneously, power is cut in half again, meaning that the end result is that each speaker only gets 1/4 of the original amps power rating. In other words, if you have a 50 watt amp, when both A and B are playing, you only get 12 1/2 watts to each speaker! That is adequate for very background listening, but not nearly adequate for serious, realistic volume listening. Other than that, this unit is very well built.

Comes with a broken cable
I will have to re build this thing. cables inside are thin, not well soldered. one was lose, and i realized that comes in series, that affect the power output of the amp if you need both channels on. Maybe the metal box works for me because I'm going to rebuild it with better quality cables, and change the switches to make it work as it should. it was the most expensieve metal box that you can get for a project

Does the Job But----
Unit is larger than needs to be . Terminals are minimalistic. Cannot use modern spades or banana plugs. Reminds me of Radio Shack product from forty years ago. But, will work in a pinch for price.

A little pricey
When you turn both switches on, you are effectively putting the speakers in series and therefore the power is split among the two speakers. Nothing wrong with the product yet, i just think its expensive and suprized nothing else is out there that can do this

This product is of a better quality than what i was expecting
I was impressed with the weight and heavier gage materials that were used to make it. It feels much more robust and sturdy than what I was expecting. The functionality of the unit is simple, however I like the solid "clicks" and size of the rocker arms.I highly recommend this product.

What I was looking for.
I like this product. I did not rate the volume control because it did not have one. Good product, it did what I wanted it to do.
