It works, but can be messy.
Do NOT touch the tube. It is very sticky. At first it didn't seem to work, but once there was one fly on it, they all came. It sits in the corner window of my kitchen window. Not very pretty, but every fly on there is one less flying around my kitchen.

Hang “em” anywhere and catch those flies!
Add a little a wine in the bottom cup. They aren’t pretty to look at, but they do catch the flies. My wife complained of them landing on her to often instead of the sticky tubes when setting them off a bit from where we generally sit. Well being creative I got her all fixed up with a fly & cap version. She’s happy with these.

flies will not even go near it
I remember a decade ago buying something similar at the feed n seed in Idaho. The fly 'bait', was a liquid, that looked and smelled just like runny scat. Still, drippings that on the sticky 'trap, attracted flies like crazy. In one day, surrounded by cow fields in summer, these, twice as long btw, would be so full of lies you could not see the gold pole. Now? The 'fly bait', little green crystals to put on the sticky gold pole, repels flys, actually all bugs. None of them want a thing to do with it. While, same company i think, the clear window trap adhesives caught dozens of flies and a bunch of tiny somethings, after 3 days this has caught 2. Two flies. They don't want anything to do with it. Do not buy this. I even set another one up without using the 'bait crystals' on it, and in two days will not show even one fly/other. They , I bet, are made with chemicals that deter catching bugs. Waste of time/money. Get the clear, as in strips, that go on the windows. These are a total waste of time n money. \ Why are they even selling these?

They work ok at a low high.
We have had these for two days now, and the flies just fly around it. It’s like they are mocking us! Don’t waste your money on this item. After placing these at at a lower level, they did ok. The instructions didn’t mention that.

Not as expected
The restaurant I work at uses these and they are FANTASTIC. Unfortunately it is the complete opposite in my house? Not really sure why but I have had it out for days and there a no bugs on it at all but you leave one of these suckers out overnight in the restaurant and they get covered!

An excellent low-tech solution!!!
This product really works!! We have a little bit of a fly issue because the next-door neighbors don’t pick up their dog poop. So we have one of these near our back door, and one of these at our front door; and they take care of the problem! Make sure you use the fly bait, which is in a small packet stuck to the inside of the top lid. They don’t spell that out in the directions. The flies love that fly bait, and once they stick on that gold tube, they’re stuck forever!

Save your money - don't work well
These don't work well at all. Flies just ignored them. It caught a couple knats but that's it. Had bought a couple boxes of them and very disappointed. Didn’t work in the house, in the garage or on the deck. Flies didn't even fly near them to get stuck. Unfortunately it was a waste of money. Smelled ok, great adhesion and easy to set up but didn’t catch these annoying flies.
