Silver DUCT TAPE Mug Coffee Cup, Mr. Fix It DIY Man Gift

My gf stumbled upon this item while searching for a gift for her father. We immediately agreed this was perfect. It arrived today and we are a little disappointed. We had looked at this item from multiple sellers and the pictures are far more impressive than the product. The surface of the mug is glossy and much smooother than most images appear. I credit amazon for having the most faithful image I have seen online. On the bright side it apppears to be pretty heavy duty and durable. I think its a purchase we would still make knowing what we know. But it's something any prospective buyer might want to consider.

Guys love duct tape. There's a saying in our family that 'you can give it to them for Christmas.' Well this mug was purchased as a Christmas game prize, and it was a big hit. The way we play games, prizes can be 'stolen' from each other - and the duct tape mug was the prize that all the men at the table kept stealing. It's big - it's sturdy - and it looks like duct tape - what more could a guy ask for?

I bought this as a gift and was there when it was unwrapped. Despite the excellent reproductions of duct tape on the box, my recipient did not recognize the lumpy gray exterior as representing duct tape, and if I hadn't known better I would've been bewildered too. The manufacturer spent the money to get features formed in the outer surface of the cup that are the right size and shape for pieces of duct tape, if a bit too thick. But then they cheaped out and painted the whole thing a uniform battleship gray under a glossy glaze. None of the slight metallic sheen, underlying woven texture, or little bit of adhesive around the edges: those details that announce "This is duct tape."

Not sure how much it looks like duct tape. But it feels good in my hand and holds a decent amount of coffee. If anything it feels a little light. No one has the same mug so I don't worry it will be picked up by mistake at the office. Inside is white so you can see what's in it. It is not level inside which means it gets stains in the depressions put it is smooth so they wipe out with a little extra effort.

It was appreciated as a gift; good "duct tape" finish on the cup (it's all ceramic) and it is nice large size for coffee without being ridiculously large.The overall blankness also means you can paint initials on it with bright nail polish if you so desire.

I bought this for Christmas for my brother. He had a mini heart attack initially thinking I had actually duct taped his entire present! It was very funny! He loves the mug and has already made several cups of coffee in it!

I liked it a lot as a gift for my brother the only problem I had with it was that the coloring was more gray than silver :/ It really made it look less like duct tape which was disappointing.

Foolishly, this looks like a ceramic mug put together with duct tape -- exactly as described and pictured, and exactly what I wanted. Unlike other duct-tape mugs which show only partial "repairs," this one is entirely "taped" together. It's a perfect novelty gift. Besides being used for drinks, it's a good desk-top pencil holder or would work fine on a garage shelf to hold hardware. Definitely fun!
