String for my trolling motor broke and this was the perfect replacement for it, very comfortable in the hand and easy to install

I was surprised to see how hard it was to replace the pully rope on two of our trolling motors. Its tricky to replace the rope and keep the unit from hitting the lock position. This will again have to be replaced in a couple of years, it depends on how much you fish. We have two boats and we fish year round, which most do. And every time you rise and lower your unit, even with a guide on it, it puts tension on the cord and makes it weaker and weaker.. Will change this out with a more solid unit, its just a matter of time before this one breaks as well

I think it is destine to break as it does not seem substantial enough time will tell it stretches a lot when lifting the trolling motor

Had a little trouble threading it through the holes on the MiniKota, used a paperclip.

I love the Minn kota replacement however as a tip. I up sized the cord just enough to maintain even flow through the eyes and installed 4 inches of shrink tube in the rub point for lifetime strenght
