Works well
Tested these the day after they arrived by placing on in aSome luggage during a business trip. Put another in my son's back pack, one at home and the final one on my key ring. All of which were tracked well and when the "find" feature was used, I was able to as the beep was loud. We are now using these on both iOS and Android.

I lose my keys a lot, NO MORE
The "ring" function is so so helpful as I live in an apartment with a roommate and often my keys get moved around and I lose them. So being able to call them and find them that way, so much easier than looking for 4 hours! It's easy to track, not too large for a standard keychain, and keeps me organized

A few pros. Lots of cons. However, better than the other alternative
'Find my device ' app on my iPhone only works for individual airpods when out of the case. I'm using chipolo to find it even when they're inside the case, because I tend to lose it often around my house.Update#2:So I've now used Tile sticker as well, and I've now bumped up my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars, just because Chipolo works much better than Tile sticker, which I was using for my cats. I'm buying one more chipolo.Update:So I've had this device for a while now, and I'm even using it on my cats. So I have a more nuanced opinion at this point.Pros:1. Loud2. Works ok3. Cheaper than tileCons:1. Out of range alert is not what they advertise it to be. It only detects if your phone moves away from your tracker while it's going out of range. Doesn't detect if the tracker moves away. So while it's useful to know if you've forgotten your wallet at home, it's not useful to detect if your cat has jumped the fence.2. Location location location: It makes use of the location of your phone, and does not add any more info than "near your current location", which is pretty useless. It may only be useful when used as 'mark as lost'. Also, it constantly forces you to turn your location settings to 'Always allow', when all it needs that for is for the community detection. It pretends that it doesn't know the location when the permission is set to 'allow while using the app'.3. Connectivity: This is the biggest con, and is the reason I'm returning my device in favor of a tile. It hardly works with android, and doesn't connect till my cat is like 10 feet from me. On my iPhone it works till a distance of maybe 30 feet, but definitely not more than that.4. Community: YMMV, but very few people use chipolo here in California, while tile is sold in the supermarkets. Wide adoption and network effect is important when you rely on the community to find lost items.

It will fail you, too.
The concept is great. I put this on my dog’s collar and if she gets away at the park or sneaks out my back door, I’m able to track her before anything happens. In reality, their product is garbage. Jazzie has gotten away 3 times while wearing it and 3 times it has failed.Once, it showed that she was still in the park. She was not. She had been grabbed by someone, taken across town and was spotted by someone who has seen her pictures on my Facebook. She rides with me daily in the passenger seat of my car and this thing will make my phone alert me and ask if I left my dog behind while I am literally one foot away, driving. This happens... Every. Single. Day.A neat function is the ability to find my phone if I lose it nearby. Simply click this device and it makes your phone ring. That would be fantastic If it worked every time instead of it’s current 1 out of every 2-3 times...It offers the ability to be a remote clicker for your phones camera, should you choose to “take a selfie”.Taking a selfie is not something I’m personally looking for in a gps tracking device for my dog, but what do I know? I’m a just a 43 year old CEO of a small private equity firm in New England, not a 25 year old hot shot tech developer “West Coast Cool” and conning people out of their cash for a product that is barely ready for beta testing but got sent out into the actual market to bring in some money fast because maybe there’s an angry investor or two calling frequently to find out when the capital starts coming in from their venture.I didn’t return it. Why?Id simply prefer to see it as a small fee, a “Stupid Tax”, if you will, to learn a lesson to never, ever buy from this brand again.Don’t buy it. Trust me, you don’t need to experience this product first hand to be glad you didn’t. It’s that bad.And you see, it is a shame because my stepdad is starting to show signs of dementia and initially I thought this would be great for my mom to have for him. They’re in their late 70s now and I can’t always be there with them. But it failed me for my dog. I don’t dare introduce it to my mom. I would never forgive myself if an avoidable tragedy struck because it failed them, too.Sorry.

Attached to my stethoscope at work. I'm new to these and I love it!
TLDR: I'm an ER nurse and don't want to lose my stethoscope. The setup on my phone was easy, and I attached the Chipolo using a zip tie. I get notifications when I'm out of range, and can activate the alarm when I'm looking for it.Summary: Why didn't I use an Apple Airtag? Because I'm an Android user. Why didn't I use "Tile?" Because a lot of their tracking features require a paid subscription that is otherwise included with Chipolo. The setup was really easy. Simply install the app onto your phone and follow the prompts. The interface is easy to understand and use.I think this is cheap insurance to have for my one item that is likely to be misplaced and/or stolen. Recommended.UPDATE 10/3/24: I left my stethoscope at work and went on days off. Came back a week later and was able to find it in the ER using the directional map and the audible alarm. Worth it!
