Refresher to learn my shorthand again.

I just received the book and was reading the publisher’s intro. It states Gregg invented the system in 1888, was born 1867 and started attending school in1972. Then in 1977 his father was introduced to Pittman Shorthand and had all his other children, except John learn the system. John died in 1948.Who in the world edited this? How could he have started school in 1972 when he had died in 1948? How could his father regard him as a child in 1977 when the “child” had been dead 29 years? So this makes me wonder how many errors there might be through the instruction book. Can someone please respond to this?Otherwise the book looks great….but is it accurate???

I love refreshing my shorthand from this book. I just wish I could find a book of the exercise answers to go with it.
