Light It! By Fulcrum, 12-LED Motion Sensor Security Light, Wireless, Battery Operated, Bronze

Our rural lake home was built in 1975 and there was no electrical wiring put over the entry door.......just a side light which switched on or off inside the house. So coming up after dark, it was a PIA fumbling with keys trying to find the right key, then trying to get it into the lock. When I saw this 12 LED unit, it's easy installation, the fact that's battery operated, motion activated & weather proof I bought it. This baby is LARGE. Nothing rinky dink about it.First thing I did was remove the bottom plate, line it up over top of my door, took a felt pen and marked the 3 holes on the siding. Then I drilled 3 pilot holes for the screws. My siding stuck out away from the underlying structure so I didn't use the screws or anchors ( hidden under the back plate) that came with it because the screws were too short. I put the back plate up with the "correct side" facing forward, I got some longer wood screws and secured it. I then slid the empty the shell onto the back plate. Lastly I added the 4 side D batteries and attached it to the shell. I opted to have the motion eye toward the door rather than the way it's shown in the photo. That way, when I open my door from the inside to exit, the light comes on immediately giving me wonderful bright light. It seems to come on if you're about 10 feet away walking towards it from the side.You can adjust it up or down very easily. I'm a 65 yr old gal and from dragging out the ladder to measuring to finish product, had it done in under 5 minutes. This light doesn't come on during daylight hours. When it does come on, it stays on about 30 seconds AFTER ALL MOTION HAS STOPPED. If you need an area illuminated and don't have any way to have it hard wired..........this unit is for you. I can imagine this would be great for a boat cabin, dock, RV, deer blind, shed, out house, barn......etc For the price, you cant be++++++++++++++++++++UPDATE MARCH 18, 2017+++++++++++++++++Still LOVING this unit. Have the SAME set of BATTERIES that I put in it back in 2015 and 2 brutally cold winters. Still works like a charm and is water tight. Best $$$ I ever spent. I STILL CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.++++++++++++++++++++++++UPDATE JULY 3, 2017++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Well, the Original batteries I installed in Nov 2015 are finally starting to get pretty dim. Replaced them today with the same brand.......Duracell - Procell that I bought through Amazon. Best batteries I've ever come across for an Alkaline. So I was putting the unit back and accidently dropped it onto hard vinyl decking.......from a height of about 7+ feet. I thought for sure it was broken but it wasn't.When I put in the new batteries, the light came on and it took at least a full minute or so for the light to switch itself off so don't panic if it doesn't go off in 30 seconds.

I purchased one of these for my garage. During the winter in Maine the lights out there stop working when it drops below freezing, so I needed something that would work in extreme cold. I tried one for 3 months before buying more. It's easy to install and has worked great for 3 months so far (same batteries. Haven't had to recharge yet). I put the first one right under my garage door that leads into the house. I love the motion sensor, shuts off after I go back inside. I've had no problems. Works every time. I bought more for by the hot tub and in dark spots in the garage. I don't know how well they work if exposed to rain, but they aren't affected by cold. Highly recommend.

Brilliant bright light..............when it works. When I first purchased this product, it worked every time and was brighter than I could have imagined. Well, after about 2 months, it started to work when it wanted to. Although it was still bright as can be when on, I replaced the batteries thinking that was the problem. Nope, still works when it wants. So now I'm very disappointed in a light that was not cheap. This light now has not worked for 1 straight month, but freakishly...worked last night. Bizarre.My brother loved this light when I first bought it, so he bought one too. His didn't work well from day 1.

Works perfectly for my application. I installed the light outside of the door to my fifth wheel as the photo shows to add light and not have to leave the entry light on all day.Installation is quick, the directions are pretty useless since the installation is so simple. Since my fifth wheel has a fiberglass shell and thin backing, I did use the drywall inserts for a better hold. I also used silicone to seal the holes I drilled, definitely don't want water in the walls of my fifth wheel.The light works great, I only have it shining on a 4'x4' deck and it is really only to see the lock, but the motion sensor and light are perfect for what I need. This is not a light for your back yard, this is only for a single door.Pros:- Plenty bright for small area- Motion sensor works well, does not turn on when light is present- Simple to install- Rotates on two axisCons:- Battery powered, not sure on the longevity yet- Does not have an on/off switchOverall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone with a small space needing an adjustable motion light.UPDATE: Stops working properly in colder temperatures, somewhere in the 20's and low 30'. Could be a problem with the Alkaline batteries, but rain/water has not been an issue.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  We have the 6 LED version of Fulcrum's Porch Light but needed a brighter version around our garbage cans and recycling bins in our backyard. My husband installed two of them on the exterior of our house without any cussing or multiple trips to Home Depot! They are super-bright and the motion sensor comes on immediately when we step out the door. I'm thinking of getting one for our attic as well.

It was so easy to install and put batteries in a safe dry place. When it came on it brightly lit the whole area around my back porch after I opened the screen door part way. The light is pointed toward the porch only partly toward the door - good range of detection. I stepped out on the porch and the light stayed on until after I went back inside and closed the door. It has only been out for a little over a week so I do not know how long the batteries will last, but I have batteries. I Recommend itI have had the light up for several storms now and I say it is perfect for my needs. Puts out a bright light, takes the rain.
