Small, built well and works great!
Love this little preamp. I purchased exclusively to use with my Mac to rip albums. It works very well and seems very quiet. Bonus is that it will work powered by usb from the computer, so no need for the power pack (which, btw, introduced a huge a/c hum to the signal as it was near my turntables output lines and moving coil preamp transformer). Side note, I am using Vinylstudio app on the mac. Works great!!

"Fantastic phono preamp with great performance for the price”
"Fantastic phono preamp with great performance for the price”I purchased and received the UA2D USB phono preamp last week and used it today, this is an incredible product for the price, I am very happy with this unit and works as intended. I hooked this up to my JBL powered studio monitor to play my Technics SL-1200MK5 and it works excellent as a phono preamp. Thru the USB port, and run with the Audacity software for transfer my 78's, LP’s and cassettes to mp3 or other digital format, sound quality is good and I can now put some of my out of print albums on to my phone and listening in my car.It is very well made, construction is solid and really love the clean white color casing, there aren't too many items nowadays that are made out of metal in white color.I might consider to purchase other one to use as the DA Converter / headphone amplifier with my laptop, and for those who already have a turntable, this device is highly recommended.

UPDATED: Sound is Fine, Bass Heaviness not an issue now - increase to 4 star
1) The heft of this unit feels substantial, not cheap. I like that it is built with a metal case, and not plastic. I like the construction of it, tells me build quality was considered during design.2) EDIT of this section #2 - REVISED 12/10/2021- Previously I had said that the unit produces too much bass when using the phono switch, rather than line in. I obviously did not understand how RIAA equalization works. Let's just leave it at that before I embarrass myself too much. All said, the amount of bass I experience is just fine, now that I've corrected the error between my ears. All that said, though, I do get considerable speaker hiss when using this unit, as opposed to going straight from my turntable to the Photo In connection of my Yamaha HT amp. The Yamaha produces Zero hiss on direct connection, but put this in the chain, and you hear it, for sure. There is also a discernable, click-click-click at certain intervals, even if nothing is playing. I'm not really sure what is going on there. You can't really hear it with music playing, but when nothing is playing, and the unit is idle, you hear it.3) The other knobs - Gain and Monitor seem to both increase speaker loudness. It gets to a point that you can actually hear distortion if you have the Gain and Monitor volume set for Line In, and then switch to the Phono feature. This seems like an oversight. I understand that there may be some people who need to use this as a volume control for their system, but for most people volume is controlled by the main unit, not the pre-amp. I imagined the Monitor volume was specifically for the headphone output, but I was wrong. The solution would be to have a switch that allows the Monitor volume to activate or not. I know you can put the Monitor volume to zero and it's solved, but it's not really a great experience.

High Quality -- Great Results
Once set up (using Windows 11), this device is EXACTLY what we needed. It replaced an older WAY cheaper "phone preamp" box ONLY, which blew up and actually damaged our (former) PC's motherboard audio chip (we think). ONE CAUTION: Follow the printed instructions for setting up SEVERAL Windows settings EXACTLY. Once we did that, the audio results are FAR better than (a) we had before and (b) than some of the cranky "perfectionist" reviews shown here. Lots of people fancy themselves Audio Perfectionists, but to me (an actual musician and lifetime audio geek), they are merely picky (ego).

Good value USB phono preamp, a magic box
Received this beautiful USB phono preamp and unboxing, the package design is very nice, and the build quality is pretty good too, solid metal case and good quality connectors, three control knobs are smooth when you do the level adjustment, the white color chassis design also make it looks modern and elegant. When I’m using this as a phono preamp with RIAA for my sound setup, it help to increase the master volume output between my vinyl record player and amplifier. It also provides enough of headroom and output level when I plugged into my laptop via USB port for listening the music thru headphone on Youtube and iTune. There is no additional driver needed, simply plug and play on both MAC OS and Windows 10 (you just need to select the sound input/output on the System Preferences setting in your computer)For transfer from the vinyl record collection to digital format as WAVE/MP3 is also easy, even this product doesn’t come with any recording software, but it works very well with free download Audacity software. Clean your vinyl first, then connect the preamp via USB to laptop, open the Audacity software then setup the USB input and output on the Preferences, create a file, open a new track, set the sound level and record, done! The MIX control knob is very useful that allow you to monitor the audio between the Preamp and USB (CPU), you could monitor both if you set it at 12 o’clock. If you need a budget phono preamp with USB recording function for transfer whatever from vinyl turntable, tape or any analogy line in audio source into digital format, this little device is perfect that works as advertised. It supports a variety of software programs without driver installed, very easy to use.Other main reason that I give it for five stars, this USB phono preamp comes with USB cable and Adaptor (compared with other brand’s product that doesn’t come with cable and adaptor, need to order separately).
