Pretty good
I’ve not read much Spider-Man for quite some time as there are so many comics to read and it doesn’t necessarily have the greatest reputation for some stories. Spider clone I’m looking at you. This one was alright. The Sinister Six was pretty good fun as was Dr Octopus’ plan. The ending was a bit meh and there were your standard twist where nothing actually happens but overall it was a pretty good read.If you like Spider-Man you’ll probably like it. If you want something with some real consequences read something other than Marvel.

It's just not Spider-Man......
I picked up this book after reading and quite enjoying the more recent volume of Spider-Man adventures, Spider-Man: Dying Wish. I have to say that I was a little disappointed and I've probably been generous in giving Ends of the Earth three stars. One of the most striking features of this book is that we see very little of the Spider-Man supporting cast and actually for quite a long section, we don't see much of Spidey himself. In addition to this, there are a number of other factors which give you he feeling that you are not reading Spider-Man. For starters, Spidey has a new costume instead of the traditional red and blue webbed outfit and most of the action takes place outside of New York at various international locations. Also, Spidey seems to be much more of a scientific superman than is usual and there is much less use of he traditional Spider-Man attributes than previously. I think that the middle of the book which presents Amazing Spider-Man; Ends of the Earth #1 is probably the weakest section as Spidey makes only cameo appearances as various obscure characters tackle villains at international locations - this whole section could probably have been dispensed with if you ask me. Avenging Spider-Man #8 is also included as an unnecessary coda to the story - it reads like a fill-in issue. That leaves Amazing Spider-Man #682-687 to provide the meat of the book and these issues are ok although the heavy presence of the Avengers makes it read like a run of the Avengers title at times and the elongated fight scenes seem never-ending at times. There are much better Spider-Man collections that you could pick up.
