High Efficiency and Effective
These are outstanding filters for your respirator (I use them on my 6000 series model 3M 6300 Half Facepiece Respirator - Facepiece Only - Large Size, Requires Filters or Cartridges ) and are a terrific value when compared to the damage to your lungs they prevent. I am a contractor and I use them often for work, but they are just as great in the shop, yard, house. Here is my review of the product based on my experience.Pros:* Effective - These really block the particulates. Whether used in the workshop for wood dust, blowing in attic insulation, or cleaning out the dusty old attic, these filters will protect your lungs. They are also effective in blocking nuisance levels of organic vapors: Good for using spray cans of paint on your old yard furniture certainly, but not to be used in a high concentration environment like a professional spray booth. They are perfect for welding or brazing, outside airless sprayer use, in the woodshop, etc.* Efficient - These P100 filters are rated at 99.97 percent efficient, so there really isn't anything that's going to get through. Certainly good enough for allergy sufferers working in the yard or around the house, these filters are also ideal for working in commercial or industrial environments. They have a large surface area that resists clogging over time and keeps the breathing easy. These are some of the most comfortable filters I've used.* Lightweight - These filters weigh next to nothing. If you've used P100 rated canister-style filters like I have, these lightweight filters will be a revelation. Unlike the heavy canister filters that begin to cause discomfort within an hour, these can be used all day with no problem. I've found that the tension straps on my 6000 series mask don't need to be nearly so tight to keep it in position because these lightweight filters don't try drag them mask off my face as the day wears on.* Color - Bright pink that just screams to everyone in sight that you are protected from the toxic environment all around. That's a good thing, right? OK, maybe not, but I've found that the bright color has two advantages: 1) you can tell in an instant and from a distance if your crew is in compliance with their breathing apparatus, and 2) it makes it easier to tell (other than by your breathing becoming difficult to indicate that your filter is clogged, which is already too late) that your filter is getting full or is clogged by foreign matter. I appreciate this visual indicator, as I've had a hard time in the past when light colored particulates have covered my white filter. But pink? The color may not be for everyone, but you'll learn to love it every time you think about what they're doing for your lungs...* Value - For P100-rated filters that last, are comfortable to used, and that can't be beat for protection, these represent a fair ripper of a bargain.* Durable - While not to be used in the rain, these are moisture resistant. I was skeptical until I was in a misty environment, and they still perform very well so long as they are not soaked. I've also had them catch on various branches and machinery and have been surprised how resistant they are to tears and damage.Cons:* Color - I'll admit the color may not be for everyone, but I've learned to love it.Bottom line:These are outstanding filters for an excellent value. I've never had a complaint when using them and have found them to be long lasting and very comfortable to use; when it comes to the protection they afford, they are second to none, in my opinion.Five stars for top rate protection and highly recommended.

Works against pepper gas!
I bought these to go with a 3M 6503QL respirator. I own a little one-man company that makes and bottle hot sauces from my home, and age each sauce in quart Mason jars for a period of time before bottling. Cleaning the pots in which I made the actual sauce would be mildly irritating because the steam from the hot water would aerosolize enough capsaicin to irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, but not enough to go Walter White about it. Up until recently I would seal the quart jars in a water bath since the acidity of the sauce removed the necessity for pressure canning. I bought these filters because one afternoon I made a large batch of sauce with locally grown Ghost Peppers, canned the sauce, and into the water bath they went. I was cleaning my pots, listening to the sound of a good, roaring boil, when quite suddenly it felt as if a can of tear gas had been launched into my house by a SWAT team. My eyes and nose were gushing their respective liquids and it hurt like hell to breathe. I thought for a moment about any reason why my house would get raided, and I don't participate in online gaming, so some little brat wouldn't have me SWATted, but part of me was waiting for my door to get kicked in none the less. No, one of the new quart jars (not purchased through Amazon. Just sayin') apparently had a weak spot and exploded in the boiling water, aerosolizing a LOT of capsaicin and vinegar. The lid-end of the jar was lifted by the boiling action and propping open the lid of the water bath, releasing pepper gas and vaporized acetic acid into my kitchen. To make things even more full of awesome, I had the AC on, so the pepper gas circulated through my entire house in no time. No s**t, this is a true story. I was able to keep the dogs outside, but when my girlfriend came home and the house was still a little riot-controlly, like Lucy I had some esplaining to do. So yeah, I bought a respirator and these filters.Shortly after they arrived, I made a batch of sauce with Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers, even taking a small sample and adding it directly to some boiling water under controlled conditions to really test these filters. Zero respiratory discomfort. These things are little pinkish-purple champs. I cleaned out the back of the fridge with these on, saving the tupperware, and no odor got through. Indoor cat owners, these are right up your alley.I would highly advise you do a little research and make sure that these are the right filters for your job. I don't know how these perform while working with a significant amount of muriatic acid, for example. All I can do is relate the most extreme circumstances in which I used these, and they performed beautifully. They might even be overkill for what I'm doing, I don't care. I won't chance buying any other filter.

Awesome and it works. Asthma can breath easier!
These work great! I went into a house which had pets all over the place. Smells of animals, and waste filled the air. I put this on, and the smell was cut out, I think completely! I have asthma and my nose runs very easily with dust, pet hair, certain smells and chemicals. No problems here!I trim my facial hair as close as I can and it still produces are very good seal. They recommend you shave so you have a skin to mask contact to ensure the best seal.Combine this with 3M Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6503QL/49492, Large and you will breath so easily! I did notice I had trouble breathing, but because I have asthma I probably notice it more, I'm sure people who don't have this condition, will breath just fine.Just a quick overview of things this is good for:DustFine DustPet hairPet smells and almost all smellsChemical smells and vapors, like Bleach, cleaning products, spraysSpray Painting, (can, aerosol, airbrush)-------------------------------------Do NOT use this with dangerous chemicals that can harm you, that includes death. There are ones that can protect against that by 3M.---------------------------------------------------------ALWAYS read the instructions and the immense list provided. Do as much research as possible. You do not want to buy the wrong filter and inhale things that can harm and kill you thinking it was good enough.------------------------------
