Do they contain bleach?

They work by giving a very faint blue tinge to your wash, which removes the yellowish tint that a white wash can sometimes get. Having said this, I don't know if they do contain bleach, but they don't have a bleaching effect, anyway. As they do tint washing blue, they should be used only in very small quantities, I find less than a quarter of one block is enough for an average wash.

Traditional and best

If you like blue-ing your laundry in the traditonal way, this is very good. I wrap up a quarter of a cube in a bit of cloth, then put that in the machine for the rinse cycle. I find I only need a quarter cube for the average washing-machine load (you can over-blue it), so it last for quite a while.
