Just hooked it up today. Hand tight, didn't use any tools. It's working great so far, no leaks at all! I honestly expected it to leak after seeing the reviews. Maybe they got a bad one or just user error.. For the price, this is excellent! It's like the old egg timers, no batteries. You can hear it clicking if you get close enough but it's a lot quieter than the egg timers, you'll only hear it if you put your ear up to the dial. Just push and hold the little black switch down and turn the dial to the preferred time you'd like it to run, release the switch and once the timer reaches 0, the switch flips back up shutting off the water. I tested it and set it to run for 15 minutes, as soon as it reached 0, the switch flipped up and the water immediately stopped. No drips, nothing. I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the water off anymore! My wallet will appreciate this $10 fix! Haha. Also, just a heads up, that little black switch is the shutoff valve. If the water is on, as soon as you push that switch down, the water will immediately start running. Good flow, easy to install, and easy to use.

I held off for about a month because one reviewer stated that you have to pull the plastic tab every time to reset it, and once the unit is broken there's no way to use it or fix it ( 100% wrong! ). The tab only pushes down for the manual function. For or the timer just turn the dial and it immediately pops right up automatically.. I ordered 2 and they are larger and have a much better quality feel than the pictures in the description. They work to perfection. For the price they are a great deal.. If anything changes, I'll update. Otherwise 5 stars all the way.

I'm forgetting things more often these days, like Did I turn off the ducks' water? Started hooking up these timers so as to not drain the well, made a whole bunch of difference to the bill! Set it and forget it all I want now with no confusing digital buttons or batteries.

I have 8 of these and all but 1 continues to work great after 2 years even with hard, well water. After a while, the hard water does start to build up and cause some drops to form when it is turned on but it only cosmetic so far. For $10, it's worth the price.

Bought one of a different brand at Garden Store, bought these two here on Amazon. Should ought to have waited, I could have bought all three for less money here, than I spent for the first one. They work, they work well. What can you say, other than I glad I got them.

I ordered this because I'm horrible at filling my water troughs and forgetting. These work great! My only complaint is that they don't last. This is my third in 3 yrs. I opted for the metal casing on the second one thinking it would last forever. Wrong. It only lasted 1 year and now it leaks water, so I can't use it. BUT as long as they're working, they are wonderful. I think the problem is exposure to the weather as to why they only last a year. The exterior looks normal so its got to be the guts that give out. I'd rather lose this $10 timer than my water pump.

These things work great for cattle and horse water toughs. Set the timer and forget about it. Don’t have to worry about if you left the water running or not

This was recommended on gardeners group I’m with. The star rating was not bad. It arrived quickly. Bad points: 1/ very hard to connect. Unless you have enough thread on the tap it won’t connect. I had to use an extra long connection to get a long enough thread. Using 2 rubber seals doesn’t work. I managed to connect it after a few weeks waiting for all the connections to arrive. 2/ once connected, the flow is weak. Considering this is the cold water mains it was almost half the strength. So it’s double the time to top up the pond. Not for me. I’m glad it works for others. I’m back to using my phone 10 min alarm😊
