Does anyone know what kind of steel this is (I'll probably get one regardless at this price point, but I'm curious)?

Per the Master Cutlery (MTech USA) website, the blade steel on the MT-673 is 3Cr13.

Does anyone know if the SMALL TEK LOK Adapter works on this kydex sheath? I wanna carry on my belt instead of around my neck.

I was thinking about making a custom kydex piece myself. Just a basic loop and drilled to match the sheath.

Of this brand (or others), which would be most invisible under women's fitted clothes yet still be a decent length?

Go to amazon.com and look under 'neck knives'. Huge variety here. You may have to try a couple, then look in a mirror, or have a friend see if they can see if you're carrying a knife. A slightly built woman with snug fitted clothes is going to need a knife with analmost flat handle - they do make them. Best of luck here!

how's is the retention? is it secure if wore as a neck knife and hung upside down from the sheath?

012019...received the knife. HOWEVER, the kydex sheath would not lock the knife. The sheath was poorly made. Had to request another knife.
