Would these work for a more liquid-y sauce like soy sauce? I worry about it leaking.

These containers are tight and do not leak providing you handle them properly . They have an easy access flip top , which you COULD accidentally lip open in your pocket. They do make a more secure container that comes in plain 2 0z and 30z size that has a more secure flip spout and is more secure. You can find them by an amazon search
