Q: Is this thing any good?

I have had it for over 3 years , no problems. it is a surround channel amp with 50 watts. Does not need the power of the mains. Set it up with a clear line of sight between rec and tx , have a good receiver like my Yamaha its no problem, do not even realize its there. Turns itself on and off with signal . Good product.

Q: Would this be compatible with VIZIO S4251w-B4 5.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer and Satellite Speakers?

As long as you have outputs for the rear speakers, you can plug them into the soundcast and use them.

Q: Does it have to be line of site? I want to wirelessly set up B speakers in the next room.

Mine works without line of site... But they are in the same room with a couch in between.

Q: Will the Surroundcast work with input from a 100 watt per channel home theater amplifier or is that too much current for the transmitter to handle?

The answer is yes and it's because the design works by resistive loading of the signal to just bleed enough voltage off to use and to pass to the transmitter. So in a sense, the wattage of the amplifier is irrelevant because the transmitter doesn't take any substantive current (the potential source of any damage) to operate.
