Best modern N64 controller every made!
Many out there are trying to make modern N64 controllers, but Hyperkin really did it right! I think some may only complain about the feel of buttons and probably complain of the sizing of the L & R buttons next to the 2 Z triggers next to them, but honestly me and my Wife love this controller that we got both the black and the white one, and she hopes they come up with more color variations later such as pink & etc. It's Bluetooth to where it can be used on both PC & N64 with no problem thanks to a wireless adapter that you can plug into your actual N64. Never tried it on Android or anything yet, but so far it performs very well other than sometimes when you play a First-Person Shooter like Quake. GoldenEye, Duke Nukem 64 and others where if you nudge the analog stick to the left slightly you'll slowly drift to the left where you'll have to move it again to stop. Never really came across that issue in Racing games where the analog stick is very important for precise turning though. Other Non-Hyperkin Admiral controllers you come across are gonna likely be wired for only one platform, perform badly, be a pain to pair via Bluetooth, and have parts grinding against each other such as the analog stick grinding against the L button, and even have the D-Pad directly in the middle where it's hard to play with. None of those are an issue with the Hyperkin Admiral

as good as wireless N64 gets for now
This IS a good controller. It "just" works, feels fine in the hand, has a passable analog stick, and is not wildly expensive. The Bluetooth works great and backing up saves is a godsend. For people with pets who chew wires, toddlers who trip over wires, or larger gaming spaces where the ungainly extension cables are a non-starter, this really is the best N64 wireless controller option on the market. And for that I give it 4 stars. BUT. It's not perfect. These are my thoughts after a few months of regular use: I personally like the design better than the OEM, but if there are games out there that require using the analog stick and the D-pad in real time this controller will be impossible to use. Very probable negative here for some more obscure games. The dual trigger / Z layout is actually nice once you're used to it: you can pick which index finger is your trigger finger based on the game you're playing, which is great. HOWEVER, the trigger / Z buttons stick. I play a lot of MK64 and shooters, and this flaw is easily the worst part of this controller. It's like the Z buttons are slightly oversized, or convex when they should be concave in specific places, or the tolerances don't account for humidity or something, but both Z buttons stick frequently. I will probably mod my controller at some point and shave off some plastic on the Zs to hopefully fix this. No rumble on the controller. I don't personally care about this, and if that was the price we have to pay for SD card backups for our saves, then I will happily pay that any time. In summary, I am satisfied with this controller. Do I wish it were up to the build quality of the legendary 8bitdo bluetooth N64 controller? Yes, but that controller was never made capable of connecting to an actual N64. Maybe some enterprising programmer can hack the Admiral's receiver to pair with the 8bitdo controller and finally provide us with the perfect wireless solution (and make a fortune for doing it no doubt), but it may never happen (besides, those 8bitdo controllers are wildly expensive now). For these reasons, I give it 4 stars. I wish I could give this 5 stars, but the Z button issues alone make that impossible.

Works Great! Nothing Else Needed! Works with Switch right out of box!
Just read the instructions. It works with the switch right out of the box. Pros: * Works with switch * Works with N64 * Flawless integration to the N64 (modern feel for older games on original hardware!) * Wireless connectivity has no lags * Controller charges via micro USB * Battery life on charge is around 10 hours (from my testing anyway) * Supports Memory Card for N64 * Has 3 different button layout configurations with switch games * Works with ANY switch game (though I would really only use it for the N64 Online Switch titles, maybe SNES and NES??). There are simply not enough buttons for modern games to be compatible. N64 controllers be weird lol Cons: * You can not customize the buttons. I hate this, but the three pre-sets are great. Just not exactly perfect. * You can only pair one system at a time. If you want to swap between your Switch and your Nintendo 64 Console, you have to un-pair and re-pair with whatever system you want to use. Its easy enough to do, but just a pain. I wish this could be fixed. Over all, best controller out there that can do both! From what I understand, not even the officially licensed (and WAY overpriced) Nintendo Switch Online N64 Controller does a 'perfect' job with button mapping, and it is ONLY compatible with the Switch Online N64 game roster.

Stick with the original controller for the N64
From Perfect Dark N64 to Zelda Ocarina of Time the original N64 controller is the best controller to play Nintendo 64 on hands down. I just attempted to play N64 with the Hyperkin. Not a chance there is a reason the Original N64 controller was designed the way that is was, and it is optimal gameplay. I know because I just experienced it for myself. I could not play at my best with the Hyperkin Admiral but with the Original N64 controller design I can.

It really works!
I read the comments and studied this product for a while. I downloaded the manual because you can learn a lot by looking at the manual ahead of time. All the button are there, but it's definitely nothing like the original N64 controller. So I bought one to check it out. It works really well. Any fears about the controller layout and reaching the buttons were quickly laid to rest. I've not played the N64 in a while because of the problem of cords getting tripped over, which was a shame because my daughter and I played a lot of games together and loved the console. I've converted the signal to HDMI and it's now hooked up to my HD television and looks just fine. I tested the controller on Diddy Kong Racing. It's still as much fun right now as it always was. The controller worked flawlessly, was very comfortable in my hands, and it was pure pleasure to be playing one of my N64 favorites again. I highly recommend buying this product. You can use your memory cards and even transfer them to SD card. Free up your N64 and discover a truly great console again, or even for the first time. It's well worth the price.

The first truly wireless N64 controller, but lacks the "premium" title that was listed.
When looking for a wireless N64 controller the pickings are slim and poor. Until the Hyperkin "Admiral" showed up. This design is based of the Japanese Hori N64 controller, and a little Sega Saturn 3D Analog Pad. Nothing wrong there, until you hold it. There is no real shape to this controller. The few videos online do show how "Flat" the controller is. The buttons are flat, the surface if flat and even the analog stick is flat. No curvature to design becomes more apparent when you hold it. If you play any modern console the shape should just sit in your hand. This just feels off. Weight, or lack of weight. This thing is light, featherweight to be exact. It comes across hollow, and it shows when you start pressing buttons and you feel like you can break this thing. There isn't creaking, but holding it to a Hori pad or original N64 controller you know the difference Buttons. Yes they too are flat, but they at least respond extremely well. The only real down side is how close the L/R buttons are to the Z buttons. You can easily click both, and there is no way around it. There is also a lack of buttons. This is a true N64 controller, and it worked great with my N64. Not so great with my Nvidia Shield or PC using Mupen. Using an emulator there aren't enough buttons for mapping extra functions like a menu. N64 receiver/ memory card adapter. It works. It loaded my memory card just fine. Too bad the memory card slot is on the unit so you can't use a rumble pack. That would have given the device the weight is was sorely missing. Battery. I played about 4 hours across three devices, and it worked great. It is listed at 6 hours, and I believe it. There are more wireless options on the way. Retro-Bit has a wireless Tribute64 coming soon. 8BitDo hasn't announced anything yet, but they have done almost all of the consoles so they are probably working on something. I feel Hyperkin jumped the gun a little calling this Premium. At the time of this writing I paid $39.99, but it doesn't feel like the price matched the quality. Wait for a price drop or the competition to arrive before purchasing this controller.

Twitchy stick, barely compatable with the switch
The controler feels alright in the hands for me, but everyone else whos felt it hates it. For n64, it works ok. Having to sync the bluetooth every time you turn the console on is really annoying tho. The Z buttons and control stick are very sensitive. If you want this controler for the switch, know that the buttons cannot be remapped and the stick needs to be calibrated every time you pair it to the console. Honestly youre better off with any of the other n64 controlers as long as you like the feel of the control stick.

Awesome!
I ordered this and a retro brawler controller at the same time. I put both of them through about 15 minutes each of Waverace 64, Mario 64, Super Smash Bros 64, Goldeneye 64, Perfect Dark 64, and MarioKart 64, on an original N64 console. I really wanted to love the Retro Brawler, because it's color options are much cooler, but the Admiral absolutely destroyed it in every game and even made my fps games much easier to play. The Retro Brawler's thumbstick is atrocious, in my opinion. Way too sensitive. The Admiral had me destroying levels and enemies. Made Smash Bros rock so much better than an oem controller as well! Ordered a second one. The only thing I'd suggest to this company is more color options. The colors you have available are really boring, but your controller feel and calibration is spot on!

2 Controller gekauft beide Defekt

A little less than "premium"
Cons: - Honestly, I'm a little disappointed in the quality of this product given the "premium" label. The plastic exterior feels cheap. - The buttons are a bit "clicky" for my liking, but that comes down to preference. - R2 and L2 on the controller map to the same button. I'm assuming this is because the controller is designed for N64 (which only has a "Z" button). Meaning you couldn't feasibly use this controller to play Playstation games, etc. Pros: - The analog stick feels very nice and has a good amount of smooth resistance. - Controller pairing* is really easy, and I couldn't notice any lag** at all. * Connected to a TP-Link UB500 on Ubuntu Linux. ** Using Retroarch
