Great Product!
Our old Standard Horizon (25 years old) finally gave up the ghost. The new one is easier to use, excellent reception and transmission. Plus the GPS feature is terrific. Easy to install and looks great!

Needs GPS signal to avoid annoying alarm.
My company mistakenly bought two of these radios to replace other aging VHF's. We soon realized after installing and using the first one that the non-GPS version REQUIRES an external GPS/NMEA signal or else you will get an alarm every 10 minutes saying there is no updated position. Manually entering the position doesn't work, and there is no way to disable this feature unless you hook up a GPS receiver or other device providing a NMEA data position.We don't need that since we don't operate more than 1 mile from shore and within radio range of a public safety shore station. Just need the radio for voice comms.
