This paperback book has cleanly printed pages that are thick enough where pencil and pen lines do not show through, depending on what type of pen you are using. I gave him a Micron Pen to write with, which is a bullet journaling pen that is known for not bleeding through pages. If you use a ballpoint pen or a pen that releases a lot of ink like a Sharpie, you will likely have bleed through or that "embossed line" look on the pages. The cover of the book is like most standard paperback books and has a slight gloss to it. There are plenty of pages to span over many months, depending on how many entries you put in. If you have a business that collects a lot of receipts, this may last you only a short time, but for my son's needs, this will likely last a few years or up until he goes to college where he will probably switch to a digital means of keeping track of everything. Good but big
I was looking for a small version to put in my pocket book. It fits bit only because my pocketbook is a backpack. This is something you'd keep at home or in a desk because of the size. It is worth the money.
