How Cannon Towels livened up the pages of LIFE magazine
Decades before the word "homoerotic" was coined, American advertisers happily embraced relaxed World War II-era standards of nudity for magazine ads featuring soldiers (everything except "full monty") to sell everything from safety campaigns to snappin' towels. It gave the girls back home something to remember the boys by, and the guys at the front some reassurance that boys will be boys. In this postmodern context, great fun. The artwork is faithfully transferred and cardstock is more than thick enough for mailing.

Great collection of images
Good quality printing on heavy stock. The images are mild enough for any friend or family member, even if they don't get the subtext. "Suitable for framing!"

THIS COVER ART IS A TEASE! ONLY 5 OR 6 OF THE CARDS ARE THIS CAMPY! MOST ARE QUITE DULL!
The cover art suggests that this collection will be comparable to the notoriously delightful Cannon Towel Ads from the 40's; but apart from the 4 or 5 Cannon ads and the cover itself, the cards in this collection are fairly lackluster and scarcely rise to the level of "camp."

Fun and interesting!
Ah, the years of innocence but not so sure about the intent of the artists of these gorgeous propoganda pieces aimed to enlist new recruits.
