This book is a great insight into our history - particularly since it is not a history of kings and queens but a history of commerce focused on a single product.

Though the book is a reference history of salt for foodies yet it is worth every penny it is paid for.

Enjoyed reading this detailed book. If historians, economists, epicures and chefs meet at a bar, the likely outcome of their conversation will result in this book.

I love the brevity of the content in the chapters. Although it must have been difficult to keep readers interested, I think the way content has been arranged is engaging. I wish there were more images to describe some of the complex procedures in the book.

A comprehensive overview of human evolution thru the use of Salt. Very well written, educational and entertaining. I will never look at Salt the same way again! I highly recommend this historical adventure. I would love to do a tour of many places discussed in the text. Good job!

This book is like a very long article on salt. The history is overwhelming. I've been looking for a reference book like that and I don't know how I missed it. Arrived on time. I enjoy reading it. It's a book for general readers, don't have to be an academic to understand.
