This is the Best of My Nine Installed S3VC Cameras
I recently installed the S3VC 5MP Outdoor WiFi PTZ camera to replace an earlier fixed 3MP model. The picture difference is outstanding. Day and night images are significantly sharper than the previous 3MP camera, the IR range at night is much greater than the 3MP, the ability to zoom and tilt is great, and the camera maintains a sharp focus. The camera will also respond to focus and pan/tilt commands in a timely and exact manner.Physical installation is the simplest yet of the S3VC pan/tilt cameras. The camera hangs on a metal piece that also functions as a template for drilling installation holes. I mounted the camera on a brick wall using a hammer-drill and a masonry bit. To install, use the hanger, mark the holes with a pencil, drill the holes, and attach the hanger to the wall with the included plastic anchors and screws (on uneven brick walls, leave some slack on the top of the hanger to allow the camera to slip over the hanger), and hang the camera.I use a waterproof exterior electrical box to house the camera’s connections and to route the electrical connection and ethernet cable to the interior of my house via a hole I drilled through the wall. The installation kit does provide a waterproof connection for the ethernet attachment cable. The camera has a pan, tilt, and zoom capability that is excellent, and I use it to monitor my 150’ long driveway. It can detect motion and humans and the provided software will alert if desired. The provided web browser or the available download software manages the camera and its options and provides motion detection and subsequent alarm functions. Rather than using the provided app for monitoring, I have used BlueIris for years and continue to use it with this camera. The camera can accept a Micro SD for on-board recordings which CAMHI can access.I included a picture of the camera and included accessories when the box is first opened. The accessories are what one would expect – power supply, ethernet cable for initial set up, waterproof connector for external use of a ethernet cable, easy to read (written in understandable English with quality pictures) quick start guide, and physical installation screws.Initial setup is simple using the CAMHI app and the included ethernet cable – it only requires about 5 minutes. The camera is wireless, and it is also possible to connect it via ethernet. I tried both methods and the image and response to commands is the same with both connection methods. This is a great camera, pan tilt is excellent, setup is simple. If you are looking for a pan-tilt, IR, 5MP camera, this should fit all your requirements - it did mine!

Great quality PTZ camera.
RE: SD8W-5MP-HXI have been a big fan of SV3C cameras since I started switching over to their 5MP bullet cameras last year. I had one last camera that needed to be updated and it was my PTZ camera that covers most of the front of my home. I wanted something that had sharp, clear video during the day but more importantly was the infrared capability overnight. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the SD8W-5MP-HX and was amazed at its night vision capability (see photo). The install was easy with the included bracket and the initial setup was a breeze using the free CamHipro app. After it is setup and operational, I always use a browser and access the camera’s more detailed configuration options to fine tune it for my needs.Pros:- Build Quality is excellent- Infrared Night Vision is Superb- Wifi signal is very strong- Image clarity (go figure at 5MP)- Setup is a breeze- Supports viewing on your phone via the CamHipro app (P2P)- Supports viewing in Chrome browser (via IP connection)- Supports ONVIF (worked with my Synology Surveillance Station)- Supports RTSP (this is mostly what I use rtsp://[username] :[password]@[ip address]:554/11)- Video Coding using H265 and/or H264- Fully configurable streaming quality (fps, frame rate, bit rate, resolution)- Motion alarm capability- I have not seen any network packet communications to China as I did with other cameras.- I now have > 10 SV3C cameras and have had zero failures.- Does not require cloud storage (I store all my video locally on my NAS server)- And a responsive support team if you have questions.Cons:- A little pricey @ $189 but market compatible for quality PTZ cameras (I have been buying SV3C 5MP bullet cameras 2-for about $120)- I wish there were a few more image filtering settings. When cars drive up the driveway at night, their headlights can overwhelm the video and I can’t see the license plates until they leave.- They say they do not support 5gHz wifi and they mean it.- My biggest complaint is the SV3C cameras do not support Mesh wifi (802.11k/r fast roaming). This means that if you have an EERO, Deco, Orbi, or just about any other mesh wifi setup you will experience issues. I had to setup a couple of 2.4gHz wifi access point routers with mesh disabled specifically for my cameras.

So far great camera! Poor website no direct on line suppot
I have over 20 cameras on my system. I have 3 SV3C cams and this PTZ 5mp 5 optical zoom.Pro: Metal construction Best camera mount of all my cams. Mount the bracket slid camera on. . Very smooth motor and zoom operation Picture quality is excellent.Cons: So far none but one comment I love the mount and wanted to upgrade to a 18 optical SV3C camera .I wanted to move this camera and slide the new camera on the mount. Nope! they changed the mount to a screw on type and my current mount works perfectly on a 2 inch metal fence post. Why change a great mount to just a screw on camera where you have to hold the camera to mount? So lost an upgrade sale

Good quality product, but a little tricky to set up.
This is a good quality product. The product documentation was a little light. I liked the picture quality, ease of mounting, and overall performance of the camera. The interface on the PC is pretty good. The phone interface is a little weak and i found it difficult to pan from the phone. I some of the PC controls could be on the phone, that would be great.
