Darco Med-Surg Shoe, Medium, Women's

I couldn’t put weight on my sprained foot until I got this shoe. Very comfortable and easy to adjust. I recommend it highly.

The shie size runs a little in the small size. Otherwise it’s a good sgurdy shoe!

This shoe is exactly as pictured, good value, quick.delivery etc. and gets five stars. My problem is with the sizing. I am a US7, UK4, EU37. After reading other reviews I ordered a medium. It is too big. Sure i have narrow feet but I am wearing thick socks, have made the straps tight as possible, and it is still too loose. Even around the heel area which is not adjustable. Surgery is tomorrow and I can't get a smaller one until next week

I’m updating my review and changing from 1 to 3 stars because an Amazon representative made it right. I was sent the wrong size and it was also an offbrand, no name shoe and the Amazon agent upgraded my shipping speed and assured me that I would get the correct, brand name shoe and I did today! I literally got one of each size knowing that the medium was probably the correct one so I’m so glad it worked out. It’s still not even the one that they show in the picture but it matches my other shoe perfectly so that works just fine. I would recommend that the seller put some kind of size chart (which you can find in a Google search) but also I’m wondering if they’re even aware that an offbrand shoe is being sent. I might have been OK with that except that I was trying to match it to my other shoe. (The last photo shows the correct shoe was finally sent). Original review: I’m having hardware removed from my feet after bunion surgery last summer and I already had one Darco flat shoe so I just needed to get a match. I was almost certain that the medium would be the correct size based on measurements online and the fact that I wear a size 8 but to be safe I ordered a large as well. The “medium“ arrive today and I am pretty certain it’s a small. It has “WS” on it. The one I already own has “WM”. So I’m assuming the one I get on Saturday will be too big. I’m already bummed enough that I have to go through this procedure unexpectedly and I don’t need mismatched shoes. Plus this is not Darco brand, it’s clearly off brand, it doesn’t even match the pictures. Heck it doesn’t even match the other reviewer pictures. I ordered a replacement but it comes the day before my surgery which is cutting it super close. Especially if somebody messes up again. I suppose I could get one at the surgery center and pay three times as much but with a $1200 surgery I just really needed this break. So frustrating.

My regular shoe size is 6-6.5 US but I got the medium Darco med-surg shoe as that was the only size available. It was a good choice, though, because the extra length gives me some "space" between end of big toe and end of sole, and this provides some "bumper" protection. So I'd recommend getting slightly bigger than regular size. If necessary, when toe is more healed, wear some thick socks as padding/protection, and the bigger size allows room for thicker socks. The velcro closure at the ankle is great. The velcro closures over the toe area are also great, especially since there are two closures, so the fit can be made more comfortable -- tighter on the lower one and looser closer to the toe, so there is support but not too tight. The sole is hard and not giving at all, which is how it should be for a broken toe to heal. That said, it is absolutely flat, and that might cause too much pressure on the ball of your foot and also pain in the toe. Obviously, you can't have an arch or padding in this med-surg shoe because it's meant for either foot. A solution for you, the buyer, would be to place an insole w/arch support on the footbed and then position your foot on top. Overall, this med-surg shoe is terrific!

I recently purchased this for my daughter who had foot surgery and this shoe is perfect. Nice solid flat base to keep your foot flat, ample room with Velcro and easy to put on. My daughter wears a size 9 shoe and it fit her perfectly. Can’t go wrong with that price.

It’s been a game changer for getting around after foot surgery. Lots of Velcro to adjust for bandages. Highly recommend.
