Challenging game
This was a gift for our 8 year old son and we have not played much with it yet because of lack of time but just last night we sat to play for about an hour and it is quite challenging. He likes it and has different levels for the knots but it is actually a lot of fun. It seems durable and it is easy to understand (ALTHOUGH some knots by themselves are hard to do). Highly recommended.

Very cool game, educational
My 8 yo son is good with his fingers and likes to create things (endless rainbow loom stuff). I was looking for something he could do with his friends or his dad. This is a game for 2-4 people, but he can play it alone too. Each card has a knot on it and the first person who can tie the shown knot wins. It's not easy! I only wish the cards each had a bit of history about the knot (when/where/why it was invented).

Least Favorite of the Think Fun, but still Fun
We own several "Think Fun" games. When I am looking to purchase something fun, yet educational, I always look for games. I always start with think fun to see what they have out. Think Fun games are generally fun and educational. They are usually reasonable in price, and they are always well built. If you have purchased any off the shelf games lately you will know what I mean when I say that they are built so cheap. That is frustrating to me. This particular game is just what it seems, they give you a picture on a card, you tie it with a rope, and pull your side of the rope/pulley to win a point. This is great for scouts. My kids played it, but were bored with it pretty quickly. They also won't pick this game over others. Although it isn't our favorite game, I still give it four stars for educational value, longevity, ability to span many ages.

Simple but Great
ThinkFun Knot So Fast After learning to tie his shoes my son decided he wanted to tie everything. He was frustrated when his efforts either wouldn't stay tied or just made a knotted mess. So Santa got him this game for Christmas and now he goes and gets a card and ties a knot from the picture. He is ADHD but was able to sit and focus on tying several different knots. It seemed to give him some confidence to have control over the rope and make it do his bidding. When he gets bigger we'll try the timer for the game, but for now we just all work on our knots to see if we can get it. Actually after living my many years I realized I had been getting by with only a couple knots in my repertoire. So it is expanding my horizons. And it's fun as well. I really recommend this game. The ropes are sturdy but smooth. The container is handy but not super strong, so open it carefully so you don't crack the plastic. The cards with the knots are easy to understand. I could use info on what the knots are used for and how you would put them to practical use. But that's just me.

Knot so fun...
With no previous boy scout or knot tying training, the cards do very little to try instruct individuals on how to try tie knots if this is their first time. I do own a knot tying handbook I have had to refer to in order to actually play the game. Finally, when inspecting a knot for accuracy, it is difficult to do in a reasonable time if one lacks experience. It is a fun learning tool, but very frsutrating for the novice.

Superb Product
I purchased this for my 10 year old grandson and it was a huge hit with him! He spent numerous hours learning to tie various knots and had his brother and dad actively engaged in sharing skill levels. The only change I would make would be for the manufacturer to use more common names for the knots as some were a bit confusing. I highly recommend this product.

Surprisingly fun. Excellent!
This is surprisingly fun. I have no idea why this is so much more fun than learning to tie knots from a knot book, but it is! We got it to teach my son some knots, but my husband and I have been playing. :) I like all the ThinkFun products, and we have several. This is a nice one because it's still a lot of fun and very educational but also quite different from the others.

Good idea but not for everyone
We bought this for our 9 year old. He has played it a few times but it is not his favorite game. The pieces are high quality and could withstand lots of play time but he did not find it very interesting. He loves knots and will practice them on his own but this game was not a hit with him. The knots range in difficulty so maybe someone new to knots would enjoy this game. I like that it is a more hands-on game and I think there is definitely a kid out there that would love this game.

Brilliant knotty game.
I bought this for my 7 year old daughter because she always tie knots on everything that she can get hold of. This game is excellent as it explains each different types of knots, their names & what the knots are used for. It can be played competitively or just leisurely.

liked the game and it came faster than it was ...
liked the game and it came faster than it was supposed to. Only wish the game came with better instructions on how to make each knot.
