Lively drawings.
I love the lively drawings in this book, plus, where the cockatoos hide, is so true-to-life.

Cockatoos
Ten cleaver cockatoos lead the absent minded Professor Dupont through a zany adventure, covering every room of his old house. Young readers will delight as they spy the birds hiding in unlikely places. Parents will be thrilled as well, as the children count, and recount the elusive cockatoos. The illustrations are exceptional, as we have all come to appreciate in the work of Quentin Blake.

Great!
This is an excellent book. My 3 year old finds it hilarious and I get to be his hero just by reading it to him.

Enjoyed for years
My children enjoyed this book when they were young and I am sure my grandchildren, only babies right now, will enjoy it too. It is a mystery and a counting book all in one and it is illustrated by Quentin Blake--you can't beat that!

Excellent can be reread many times to children and adults dont get bored
Excellent set of books that adults can read many times and not get too fed up. Following 5 lots of bedtime stories over the years - whole family can recite this one.If you like this look at the Mrs Armitage boks by same author

Great fun!
Used this in Reception class teaching prepositions. They loved it. Follow up activity - we hid cockatoo pictures in the outdoor area and they did a treasure hunt with a sheet I made to find them. Great fun.

Great book for younger kids
It's a covert little counting book with a lovely little story. We love the hide and seek on each page. Our little boy took to this book before his 2nd birthday even and enjoys looking for the birds hiding on each page. Our older girl who has just turned 4 is a little too old for it and finds the simple concept a little dull.
