Pet Magasin Pet Thinning Shears - Professional Thinning Scissors with Toothed Blade

I love these thinning shears! It's what I have always wanted , other shears are so wide at tip and just so bulky but this pair are so much thinner, it makes trimming around the face and eyes so much nicer and very lite Im really liking them also they are sharp ! I think I'm going to buy a nother pair so I have them cause as many as times I've looked I've never found any like this ! They are usually the thick bulky shears ! Also the price is nice 😀

I ordered these scissors to thin some of the very thick undercoat on my Goldendoodle puppy, who is always hot. I looked at many thinning shears and one thing I liked about these was that they had fewer teeth than many of the other brands. I figured that would make it easier to cut through her dense fur. They worked exactly as well as I had hoped! They are SHARP - at one point I had to be very careful not to get her loose skin (she'll grow into it!) in the scissors as it was clear they'd cut right through skin as well. So in the "iffy" places, I put a comb in between her skin and the scissors, allowing me to get close to her skin but not be able to accidentally cut the skin (a trick my vet taught me). I highly recommend these scissors. Another thing I liked is that only one side is toothed, the other side of the scissors is straight like a "regular" pair of scissors. I believe this might contribute to their sharpness. The old (human) thinning shears I'd used (years ago) had teeth on both blades, which made for some not-very-easy thinning. If you need a pair of good, yet not expensive thinning shears, these should be definitely seriously considered. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

The only reason is because it came with no directions.I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because it came with no directions. It took me awhile to figure out how to use the sheers. At first I tried cutting like normal scissors and thought the purchase was a terrible choice because it wasn't cutting my dog's hair. So I almost gave up and decided to write a bad review. Then I tried to clip the hair into the blades and pull up instead of cutand pull up instead of cut.. This worked great and I finished the whole dog that way. It took a lot of hair off, but I have a Maltese with curly hair and will need to shave her next time. The sheers are really good for in between shaves and to follow up the shaves by grooming with the sheers.. I am pleased with my purchase and recommend it. I would suggest that the company insert good directions with the product. They almost got a bad review. Someone else may not be able to persist and figure out how to use them.

Easy to use for a beginner like myself. I recently started grooming my dogs myself and had everything I needed, except for these. I was kind of skeptical because I had NO idea how to use them. After a bit of research and lots of you tube videos on how to use them, I figured why not?! I was debating on which ones to get because I had ZERO knowledge on what to even look for. I was going back and forth on these and another pair. I'm glad I made the right choice and purchased these! Again, I'm a rookie and only groom my own dogs so for MY needs, I think they're great! You literally can't mess up the cut and blends edges perfectly! I have a Pomeranian and a Yorkie and only use these sheers around their face to shape the style I want on them. I find it too time consuming to use them on their entire body so I run clippers through their body and give them a fluffy tail and rounded face. Of course, I use them on their dry fur. I would totally recommend them to beginners, like myself, for light, at home grooming.

Maybe it’s my technique (since I’ve never used thinning shears before), but it looks to me like these shears whack off fur almost like a regular pair of scissors. I used them on my German Shepherd & my Border Collie, both of which are long coated. It performed the same way on both coats - a small hole was left behind in their coats. I tried several places on each dog with the same results. I find I do much better w/a small very sharp pair of Fiskers, cutting straight down into an area of thick hair, perpendicular to the skin & then brushing the area. It does not create a hole in the coat. I did this for years when I had Angora rabbits. I thought these shears might be easier to use or give a better result. A hole in the coat is not a better result in my opinion.

I purchased this to cut through my long hair cat's mats. Works like a charm. Thins them out and they can be brushed out easily

About the scissors for my Yorkies. I cut the front of their hair with it over their eyes. I like them very much. The groomers use them so I bought you some.

We have 2 golden retrievers and these didn’t even come close to thinning their feathers. They are not sharp and certainly not professional.
