Do you have to have power to the camera or to the monitor?

Power goes to the monitor as the power to the camera is supplied by the audio-video cable supplied in the package. HELPFUL NOTE: Hard wire the monitor, do not use the supplied cigarette lighter adapter if you want a reliable system. Thanks, Ralph

is the monitor weatherproof

Okay, I did some research on this question. The monitor is not weatherproof. They do have a wired camera/monitor kit available. Even though the monitor is considered "weatherproof" , they recommend storing the monitor indoors when not being used for extended periods of time. The cameras and cables are all weatherproof. The cost of the weatherproof camera/monitor kit, with one camera, multiple power harnesses, multiple mounting brackets, a 20 ft cable and a 65 ft cable. Kit will support up to 4 cameras.
