Q: I have a queen bed and would like to tuck this quilt under the mattress (will also have a duvet on top). Would the queen size tuck? Or do I need king.

I purchased this for my mother, I think it would tuck in but we got a king for a queen bed, and it will depend on the thickness of your mattress

Q: Are the shams standard size or king if ordering a king quilt?

The shams are king size when ordering a king quilt. I made the mistake of ordering a king quilt for my queen bed so it would fit and not show the mattress or dust ruffle. The problem is the shams are so big that the pillows stick out a little in each end of the bed. I guess I'll stick to ordering oversize queen bedding from now on.
