Jesus Calling, Padded Hardcover, with Scripture References: Enjoying Peace in His Presence (A 365-Day Devotional)

This is my 2nd devotional by Sarah Young (I got Jesus Today a few years ago whilst recovering from really ill health and really recommend that too) and this is actually my 2nd cycle (2nd year in a row) doing this 1-year devotional. I'm pretty surprised that I haven't already reviewed it as I finished it last year and immediately started over. Anyway, this review has been wonderful for the last 2 years. It has been an amazing blessing to my life offering me quick daily snippets of encouragement, reminders and perfect words to feed my faith and remind me of what would Jesus do (or rather what would Jesus say). Every single devotion written by the author is backed by several verses that you can memorize and use throughout the day to encourage yourself and others and remind yourself of God's faithfulness even in times when you feel alone or overwhelmed. Every single devotional was easy to understand and read and spoke to a gap or need that each of us encounters in our daily life. God's word truly is relevant and food for the soul even in our modern contemporary times. This is an excellent devotional for anyone who wants to feel closer to Jesus and to learn to rely on Him for all the stresses of modern life. I like this devotional so much that I got it for my brother as well and is be doing a 3rd cycle in a row for 2017 if not that I just discovered that Sarah Young has a new devotional out which I've promptly bought of course and am looking forward to. I may take a break from this devotional for 2017 but it is definitely a keeper to bookmark and refer to for those hard days where we need to surround ourselves with the Grace of Our Lord and reminders of His promises! Get this devotional, it will bless your life!

There is a devotion for every single day of the year. If you are wishing for a scripture that seems to be GOD speaking right to you...this is the book for you. I love my book and read it every morning.

I have never read a devotional like this before. The author writes it as Jesus is speaking to you everyday from His perspective. It is calming and powerful! I have bought 5 of them to share with others and they have the same experience and are growing closer to Jesus. The scriptures after the reading match perfectly, proving his Word is living!

Enjoyed reading this devotional. It was a great way to hear from God and sense Him speaking into my life.

I have ordered several of these and they are wonderful devotions. Based on scriptures, the writer portrays it like Jesus is talking to you personally.Would highly recommend.

I’ve had this book for a while now and I’ve read it and it’s just very encouraging and very a good read. It goes by each day. You just read one page a day and just it’s very inspirational.

What a difference it makes to hear Jesus speak to me personally. Such a wonderful blessing it is to read.

Ein Wunderschönes Buch mit schönen Anregungen und Versen aus der Bibel. Sie sind kurz, sodass man sie auch lesen kann, wenn man wenig Zeit am Morgen hat oder am Abend müde ist. Ich habe das Gefühl, Jesus mehr in meinem Herzen und im Alltag zu haben, ihm näher zu sein und ihn auch besser kennenzulernen. Es gibt mir Mut, mehr zu vertrauen und stärkt mich in meinem (katholischen) Glauben.

Le livre ne s'inspire pas de théories compliquées et n'est pas une sorte d'explication. C'est un journal qui rappelle le lecteur, par des textes très courts, et sous les multiples angles des états d'esprit quotidiens (différents chaque jour), à la présence divine. Il réveille ainsi un sourire simple à chaque fois que les tracas du quotidien semblent obséder notre esprit. Aimer ou pas, pour ce genre de livre, c'est une question de gout. Personnellement, je trouve ce petit "journal" très agréable à consulter de temps en temps. Par contre , il ne faut pas lire plusieurs pages d'affilée car on pourrait trouver le contenu très redondant (puisque chaque page dit plus ou moins la même chose : la présence de Dieu et l'invitation à vivre dans sa présence).

Absolutely wonderful and helps us to understand Jesus and create an intimate relationship with him like no other relationship.. all my friends I bought for adore this little book.

This book helps you grow closer to God and helps you have that intimate connection with him. Honestly, this devotional has really hit me hard every day and has made me cry tears of happiness, hope, and joy because the words really get to me words of life, this book is just as if our Lord God was speaking to us personally it's beautiful! BUY IT!!! A Christian must have Book!!
