It was a birthday gift for my husband. Such a cute and thoughtful way for our family to keep track of all the places we've been together and plan future places to explore. Came rolled up in a nice white box with colorful country names with "TO:" and "FROM:" designations. Nice thick metallic foil paper that was easy to scratch with included tool. White eraser was helpful at cleaning the scratch off residue. Loved the beautiful colorful image revealed when scratched off. Liked revealing and learning each country flags. Definitely something we plan to frame and show off!

The products was packaged beautifully - perfect for gift giving. Since the two posters and the tool purse could be rolled up together, the overall package was not bulky and is very transportable. However, since the posters were rolled up, it required careful flattening. I ended up putting both posters on the ground, covered by a large cardboard box to flatten it out. I left it there for about a month and a half, but the edges still rolled up a bit by the time I started scratching off. Loved the colors that were revealed during scratch off. While some portions were easier to scratch, I found that I needed to keep rotating the tools to find areas that could actually scratch off the gold covering. The worst part of the scratching, though, was cleaning up the scratched off gold covering. It wasn't picked up very easily by a swiffer dry cloth and ended up smudging itself back onto the map when I tried wiping. I eventually moved to a small handheld vacuum cleaner followed up by a tissue slightly dampened.Pros: beautiful background, lots of compliments, good value for money with tools and artCons: arrives rolled up so you need to do some work to flatten before you can start displaying / scratching; some misspellings of state names

I had originally ordered a black one and I wanted a different one for my son so I ordered this white one. No regrets at all, if I have to compare to two I do love the black background color more buti did want a different color from my son, the shine on this one is great, this one was of thicker quality and look much nicer. The scratch off is very easy to do and I love the colors, especially because it’s for an eight year rule so he’s really going to enjoy seeing the color come to life. We love to travel but there’s many times where he travel with other family members so I wanted to get him this for Christmas so he can do his own scratch off as he travels. This item came very fast and right before Christmas just as I wanted it. I would definitely buy more of this to give to other family members. We got this to help supplement our isolation education and my kids love it. Everyday they pick a state to learn about and the included tools make it easy for them to scratch off the black, revealing the colorful state underneath. And it is fun to see how the picture representing each state ties in! Very affordable and a great addition to our home. I bought this as a gag gift for my boyfriend because I thought it would be fun to keep track of all the places we have been together. It was so addicting to scratch off the states/countries that I ended up scratching a lot of it myself! The quality of the poster underneath the scratching area is great (I made sure to be working on a solid surface to prevent any damage like some of the pictures that I have seen. You do have to put a bit of pressure onto it - just as with any other scratcher card out there, so avoid doing this on carpet or on your bed. This recommendation will come in handy also if you have travelled A LOT - there is going to be golden dust EVERYWHERE if you are not cautious! I thought it would be a better idea to have stickers to lift than scratching for globe trotters. Canada/USA/Mexico alone resulted in a small pile of pixy dust (have a trash bin close by and a small brush to clean as you go).As someone who has not travelled to Africa and most Asian countries, seen the map (and particularly all the unscratched flags) gave me the feeling of "what the f*** and I doing standing here looking at this map instead of packing my bags to go visit all these places!?! Oh yes, that's right, I have to go to work tomorrow. I brought this on myself after all, I bought this... now searching for a frame to put these up!

This performs as described - scratch off foil to reveal color underneath. Tools provided work just ok, butter knife works much better. My biggest complaint is that the flags in rows at bottom of world map are oddly arranged, i.e. NOT alphabetical or at least not quite. Several groups are in alpha order, say countries starting with 'G' but then they're followed by a group with 'T' names and the 'U' name countries are followed by the 'S' names. (I'm not in front of it so the example may not be exact but you get the idea). This makes it hard to find a country. One must look at each flag & the type is tiny (that's why they include a magnifier!) Finally, there are countries whose flags are missing or I couldn't find due to the odd arrangement, like Greenland's (adopted in 1985) and the Faroe Islands' flags but the Aland Islands' (not an independent country) flag is included.

Both maps are so pretty. I’ve always wanted a scratch off map because I travel a lot and I’m glad I waiting to find one (or in this case two) that I like especially for the price.It also comes with all the tools necessary for scratching off the layers.
