'ARTPOP' is a celebration of obsession set to a carefully crafted musical landscape that brings the listener on a truly unique audio journey. With producers DJ White Shadow, Zedd, Madeon and others on board, Gaga's signature dance/pop sounds rose to new heights with 'ARTPOP', bringing a fresh experience that was destined to shake up the current state of pop music. Review: ARTPOP - Yet again, another brilliant album from the very talented Lady Gaga. ARTPOP sees Gaga go back to the fun and upbeat sound of The Fame Monster, and steps away from the dark Born This Way era. Most of the songs on the album are upbeat, with 'Dope' being a ballad and 'Jewel N' Drugs' having a Hip-Hop/Rap sound to it. The title track, 'Artpop' is also slow paced, with a very different sound to the rest of the album. Personally, these are my least favourite songs on the album. 'Mary Jane Holland' and 'Fashion!', to me, are filler tracks that you forget are on the album. They don't stand out and (sort of) mix in with each other. They are not as fast paced as the rest of the album, but still have a upbeat and pop sound to them. You then have the songs 'Sexxx Dreams' and 'Do What You Want', which have some erotic and dirty lyrics. This shows us a different side to Gaga, which I quite like. 'Aura' is a brilliant opening track for the album, especially with Gaga's 'HAHAHAHA'. It shows us straight away what to expect from the rest of the album, and to me, it's a grower. 'Venus' is an electronic song and would be brilliant as a single, especially if it had a music video. 'MANiCURE' is definitely a song that reminds me of the old Lady Gaga from The Fame/Monster era. This is the kind of song that would get stuck in your head. One of my favourite songs on the album is 'G.U.Y' and is screaming to be a single. Personally, I think this should of the been the second single as it is a stronger song and seems to be more popular. 'Swine' is definitely the surprise track on the album. After the first listen I was hooked and has became my favourite song on the album. A club anthem that shows us Gaga can do any style of music, (even with the weird lyrics). 'Donatella' took a couple of listens to get into. It does sort of blend in and doesn't really stand out a lot, and I can see the chorus getting on my nervous if I listen to it too much. Like 'Dope', 'Gypsy' is more of a slowed down song, however, the chorus is quite fast paced and could be classed as a dance track. This has become another one of my favourite songs, although I don't think it's that popular in general. Last but not least, you have the amazing first single, 'Applause'. I feel that Gaga done the right thing releasing this as the first single, as it is definitely one of the strongest tracks, and not only that, but what a brilliant song to end the 'ARTPOP' album. I'm looking forward to seeing what songs Gaga decided to release as singles, as there are quite a few that a worthy of being a single, and having their own music video. The biggest let down of the album is the song 'Artpop'. Considering it's the title track, it's just a bit bland and boring, compared to the rest of the album. How 'Jewels N' Drugs' got onto the album I have no idea. I really hope she does not do another song like this! But overall, another amazing album! Review: ARTPOP - AMAZING - The most anticipated album of the year does not disappoint. Gone are the days of self empowerment from Born This Way. Lady Gaga is now taking on the topic of her earlier songs - sex. She also deals with the themes of drugs, the meaning of ARTPOP (Could mean anything), and her adoration for her fans. An electro explosion of quality music, this album delivers exactly what the fans have been waiting for, for over 2 years. The album takes you on a journey from start to finish. It starts off with the first trio of songs dealing with feminism with 'Aura', the first of two insane electropop tracks with no real structure and simply 'great madness' (an ode to the Burqa fashion), 'Venus', a song which could easily be broken down into 4 different songs, but still work perfectly together (emphasis on the Goddess of Love) then 'G.U.Y', which is a mid tempo electro dance song with a very catchy chorus, talking about role reversals between two lovers. This leads into 'Sex Dreams' (very sexual and sleazy), 'Jewels and Drugs' (a trap/hip hop fusion which is one of my favourites), 'MANiCURE' (a proper rock song with another catchy hook) and 'Do What U Want' (undoubtedly one of the album highlights - R&B infused with more electro). Then the mysterious, ominous, hypnotic title track slows down the pace. 'ARTPOP' is one of the best songs on the album because of it's uniqueness and the slow repetitive synths and beats which carry the track. Now back to the electro madness, and the second of the insane, none structural songs on ARTPOP = 'Swine'. Swine has such an agressive meaning that it becomes one of the best songs Gaga has ever produced. It is indescribable, give it a listen. Then the two fashion tracks play, called 'Donatella' (referring to Donatella Versace), which is one of the weakest on the album, due to the random lyrics. Nevertheless the instrumental makes it listenable. And 'Fashion!' the second of the two tracks, is much better, reminiscent of Beegee's 70's disco groove, surprisingly produced by Will.i.am and David Guetta. Then the finale, which focuses on her love for her fans, approaches in the next 3 songs with 'Mary Jane Holland', the infamous weed anthem which Gaga turns into a homage to her fans and would be a very popular song in concert. Then the album's main piano ballad 'Dope' which is a painful admission from Gaga which declares how much she loves her fans. This is followed by the closing track 'Gypsy'. Gypsy is without a doubt the best song on the album and the best way to end the electronic anthems. It instantly reminds us of the epicness of 'The Edge of Glory' and again taking influence from Springsteen. Gaga's vocals are so strong as we can imagine her life as a 'gypsy' with no home, travelling the world and her connection with her lover. It gets bigger and bigger till the final note. The best way to end the album. Finally 'Applause' could be classed as the encore of the album after the climax of 'Gypsy'. An electro filled dance song with a meaningful chorus, so simple yet so catchy. And with the final letters called by Gaga she completes the name of this immense album: A-R-T-P-O-P. Best songs: Gypsy, ARTPOP, Do What U Want Weakest songs: Donatella (still hasn't grown on me)

She's still got it
Gaga's the only pop singer who really tries to creat something new, to explore different styles and genres, and the only artist who gives me hope that pop music isn't dead. In my opinion ARTPOP sounds really weird. Different from all things she's done before, but in a good way. A bit about every song: Aura - Love it! Absolutely crazy song, with strange begining and beautiful chorus. 8/10 Venus - As far as I know song was produced by Lady Gaga herself. I was blown away the first time I heard it. Seriously, one the best songs Gaga's ever done. 10/10 G.U.Y. - Well, hit song, for sure. It would do great as a single. Sounds like something from 80th. Word game is really interesting(GUY, GIRL). 7/10 Sexxx Dreams - So lesbian:) I like these two voices of Gaga, each speaking to a different lover (apparently, the first's a man and the second's a woman). The verses are awesome, but chorus is rather simple. 7/10 Jewels & Drugs - not bad. Good trap songs with good and witty lines. 6/10 Manicure - Hit. The guitar sounds perfect. The clapping beat is awesome, but I wanted more of "Heeeeaaal me" thing. 8/10 Do What You Want - Obviously, song has a message for media and sociaty. Gaga sounds perfect. R.Kelly, you did fine. 7/10 ARTPOP - At first seemed like a simple song, even dull, but after more listening it has grown on me. Now, it's one of my favourite on the album. 9/10 Swine - For me it's too techno, but the verses are blast! 7/10 Donatella - Well, lyrics are rather funny, but it's Gaga, so. But, it would good as a single. 6/10 Fashion! - So Bowie and Jackson! Many people call it a filler song, but no, for me it's amazingly beautiful. 10/10 Mary Jane Holland - Great!Great!Great! Love everything about this song. Somehow it sounds darker compared to other songs. 9/10 Dope - Gaga + piano = perfection. Also this song has a great meaning. 9/10 Gypsy - Born This Way Gaga. Sounds a lot like "Hair" or "Mary The Night". Very inspiring. 8/10 Applause - I love it, honestly, I love it very much. This song is catchy, funny, well-structured and just great. 9/10 I want to thank Lady Gaga for experimenting, for being risky, for constantly searching for a new sound, new way to express herself. And I definitely recommend people to buy this album, because it's really good. Not her best, cause I believe she's yet to make it, but still a really good one.

Best Album of 2013
Lady Gaga was a bit tedious with this album. Anyone who follows her on Twitter/Facebook will be familiar with her vexatious posts to the tune of "I sung the songs until they became me and then I started recording" and propagandising ArtPop all over the shop like it was the revelation we had all been waiting for and the second coming of music. Whatever, Gaga, whatever. At the end of the day, you're only making music, you're not finding the cure for cancer. That being said, the album is bloody fabulous. Whilst Gaga herself would have you believe that this is the most historical piece of music ever to stroke the world's ears, her fans would nod along "ok love, you tell yourself that" and see it for exactly what it is; a great pop album. Nothing more, nothing less. You have to give it a few listens. When I first listened to it, it seemed clunky. There was a huge mish-mash of instruments, music, and vocals and I felt quite overwhelmed. But the more you listen to it the more the songs start to separate and become their own pieces of pop music and then, all of a sudden after about 4 listens, the album as a whole does its Mother Monster proud and showcases song after song of pure pop genius. The weakest songs for me are the singles Applause and Venus (was that even a single? She spoke about it being a single for ages but I can't recall it ever being one). Venus is a bit baby-ish. It doesn't have the same sophisticated production as the rest of the album. It's Lady Gaga's first attempt at producing something completely on her own and it shows. It's a good effort though. Applause is a great song, but it's the pretentious lyrics that absolutely nobody could ever relate to other than Gaga herself. The pointless dropping of the German word "Kunst" (meaning "Art") seems silly to me, as it is a much uglier word that simply saying it in English. It's almost as if she learned the word and wanted to show off irrespective of the consequences. I'm not sure that I can pick out standout tracks, as there are so many. The album really is fantastic. I've been listening to it non-stop (along with Cher Closer To The Truth... another great album!) Buy this. You won't be disappointed!

ARTPOP or CHARTFLOP?
After an underperforming previous album with Born This Way and a cancelled tour with the Born This Way Ball, Lady Gaga's ARTPOP should have been treated by her team as a comeback album, as it is what she needed. Ever playing the misunderstood artist, Lady Gaga seems to take pleasure in her incomprehensible and disjointed lyrics. The verses of Venus are absolutely dreadful (though the song's redeeming feature is its chorus, which is arguably one of Gaga's best), and this is a problem that plagues aspects of almost every song on the album. In a very Jay Z-esque manner, Gaga throws in as many art references as she can in an attempt to put the ART in POP to make ARTPOP, though it always falls flat. Though I'm sure she'd tell me that I just didn't understand her art. 01 AURA: I'm not sure what Gaga was going for with this. The instrumental is a direct rip-off from Infected Mushroom and whilst it is good, it seems a bit uncreative to take an entire beat without making any changes at all. I would blame Zedd for this, but as Gaga is a co-producer I should hope that she would stop and say "I won't violate my artistic integrity by not changing this at all". The lyrics of this song are good, the chorus is tremendous. I don't understand the sudden Burqa references though. Gaga's vocals on this song are warbled like she had been stung by bees on her way to the studio. 02 VENUS: This song has an amazing chorus, as I said previously. The verses are awful and clunky. 03 GUY: A great intro but a terribly repetitive chorus. I'm certain that world governments could use this song's chorus as a torture method. 04 SEXXX DREAMS: This is a great song! I like everything about this song, and it is one of the highlights of the album. 05 JEWELS AND DRUGS: The first thing you hear on this track is a cough, and that pretty much sums up the entire song. 06 MANICURE: As if Lady Gaga wasn't a wannabe queen of gays, this song (along with Donatella) seems to be baiting the more flamboyant members of the public. The song starts with a non-existent intro, but other than that, it's rather good. It's not much of a standout though. 07 DO WHAT U WANT (FT R KELLY): I would just like to start this by condemning the R Kelly collaboration. Does Gaga view him as a tragically flawed, misunderstood artist too? Because every criticism of him is valid, based on what he has done in the past. The song is quite good though, even if the song feels extremely disjointed. Gaga's criticism of the press is valid, though the song's lyrics are questionable. 08 ARTPOP: The title track is good! I love the Michael Jackson-esque vocals over a Bjork-reminiscent beat. It's a shame that the lyrics are trash and that the title 'ARTPOP' is totally worthless. It makes no sense. But I don't have a degree in modern art like all of Gaga's fans do, so maybe that's why I don't understand. 09 SWINE: I won't hither-hather. This song has so much potential to be good, but it somehow ends up being utterly awful. 10 DONATELLA: Awful. 11 FASHION!: When I listened to this song, I couldn't help but sing along to Madonna's early hit 'Holiday', which shares an almost identical chord progression to Fashion!. I imagine this song will be a drag queen favourite. 12 MARY JANE HOLLAND: I cannot fault this song. It is easily the best on the album. 13 DOPE: A travesty of a song. You can easily see how Gaga was aiming for an Adele-esque power ballad, but this song falls flat. Putting the pro-drug message aside, this song is sung as if Gaga's mouth is full of water or marbles. The lyrics are contrived and do not portray a 'heartfelt' message as much as an 'addict desperately in need of an intervention'. 14 GYPSY: A fun song that would fit perfectly on a Katy Perry album. It's nice to see Gaga be inspired by her contemporaries rather than stealing from decades-old songs. 15 APPLAUSE: A bit of an anti-climatic album closer, but otherwise a good song! *clap*

Fantastic Pop Album - Great Companion to Daft Punk's Random Access Memories
I've been following Gaga since I heard Poker Face and Just Dance on the radio years ago. There've been some changes since her earlier releases. Artpop is brighter, glossier, much more Kylie/Madonna in it's approach but still direct and dry enough it doesn't invoke nausea. Content wise the album's treatment of sex is generally more positive, songs like "Sexxx Dreams" offering a striking contrast to Fame Monster's closing track "Teeth." There's more focus on the industry's preoccupation with image and Lady Gaga's interest in fashion. Tracks like "Sexxx Dreams" may be 'girlier' but the wonderful "Swine" retains the album's aggression. As a whole the album makes a fascinating companion to Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, released earlier this year. Like RAM, Artop takes it's inspiration from the sounds of previous decades, though it's approach takes a different route. References to Madonna, Kylie and even Jan Hammer (to name but a few) are unavoidable. Having said all that, the album still has a very contemporary sound, some really beautiful and edgy hooks tear through the album. It's difficult to resist dancing to. It may be worth mentioning that the album appears to be split into two distinct halves - just look at the tracklist. The only cricism is that Applause feels like an odd finisher. Though maybe that's on purpose, after all it does generate a strong temptation to replay Aura and consequently the rest of the album. I'd recommend the album to any genuine lovers of pop music out there, Gaga's one of those rare masters that only come along every so often. Take the opportunity to enjoy it while she's still around.

Best production ever
I give this album 5 stars and here's why: every track on the album is GREAT, it really has work put into each of them and the production and Gaga's vocals are stunning! Just listening this in car with a stereo system amazed me, headphones and 5.1 sound system also gives that great vibe. Make sure you don't listen to it on crappy laptop speakers, though. Unless, you've got really good ones. The lame ones really don't serve anything. My favorite tracks would probably be Aura, G.U.Y, Sexxx Dreams, Venus, Gypsy, Do What U Want, Dope, MANiCURE, Applause. That's a lot and I'd name the whole album because it's just that good! There are no fillers, so the album never gets boring. ( my opinion ) I've mentioned Gaga's beautiful vocals already but I just love how she actually experiments with her voice, and not only voice, production, yes I mentioned that too in the beginning, but it's everything! Fresh. This album is like fresh air. When I got this album and held it in my hands I noticed the foil album cover. I was surprises, it's just really wonderful! I could talk and talk about this but I just can't express how perfect this is for me. Thank you Lady Gaga for creating such a great album.

Lady Gaga goes Scifi or Greek Goddess...
I love, love, love this album. Close your eyes and listen to it through your headphones...listen to how the music works together and how LG's voice changes on each song. She is a chameleon through and through...she has the ability to adapt to any style of music and make it her own. I've been listening to the album late at night and most days when I need to gain energy to get through my work load and have managed to get on track with my work. Each song is easy to pick up and the piano is singled out, especially at the beginning of 'fashion', I love it. There's not one track that I don't like. There's an awkwardly great beginning Aura, yet flows into a beautifully laid out and memorable chorus. Critics gave it 3 out of 5, I'm not quite sure what they were listening to. I wasn't keen on the 'Born this way' album, only by hearing the releases, I decided not to buy it. I took a gamble with this one and it paid off. My twin sis loves this album too, she still has my CD, luckily, Amazon gave me a free 'rip' along with the CD, so it's all good. So take a leap of faith and buy the album...it'll make you wanna strut your stuff, lol - (Donatella & Fashion) especially. I would love to see her on tour in October 2014....:Dx

Die Anspielungen auf das Arabische ziehen sich durch den ganzen Song, so fragt Gaga: "Do you wanna see the girl who lives behind the aura?" und kรถnnte damit die Persรถnlichkeit hinter all den Outfits, ihrem รuรeren und dem Kรถrper(lichen) meinen. Der Song ist รคuรerst wulstig und komplex, so reihen sich zunรคchst unterschiedlichste Strophen-Teile aneinander, bis der Song im Refrain mit "When you touch me I die just a little inside" (vgl. "I don't need to be on top to know I'm wanted, 'cause I'm strong enough to know the truth." "Do what you want with my body" - aber ihren Geist und ihr Herz bekommt ihr nicht. Laut und klagend singt sie "You're just a pig inside a human body" und auf quiekende "SWINE!"-Kreische folgen immer intensiver werdende, elektronisch hรคmmernde Instrumental-Teile. I'm a rich bitch, I'm the upper class" rufen. "Produziert von will.i.am und David Guetta" gilt fรผr mich nicht unbedingt als Qualitรคtssiegel. Und natรผrlich mit dabei: das obligatorische Gemurmel von will.i.am, diesmal sogar in (fragwรผrdigem) Franzรถsisch. Wรคre Gaga absurderweise nicht bereits mit einem anderen Song namens "Fashion" (ohne Rufzeichen) auf dem Soundtrack zum Film "Confessions Of A Shopaholic" zu hรถren, wรคre "Fashion!" #13 Dope: Anfang September 2013 beim iTunes Festival als Erstversion und Fan-Song "I Wanna Be With You" vorgestellt, kommt in "Dope" wieder jene Gaga zum Vorschein, die wir schon von "Yoรผ And I" kennen: Klavier, tiefer Bass und die erdig-rauchige Stimme einer gequรคlten Seele.

I love how LG doesn't cheap out..
So much talent, artistic and otherwise. Just beautiful. As for Artpop, this little woman is costing me. I have had to rework the crossovers in my homemades twice now and I'm not getting it right. I guess I'll have to inject fewer decibels, but damn, who wants to do that?? This album is so CLEAN, CRISP, SHARP, POWERFUL with incredible production. Obviously created with only the best equipment. Love how LG doesn't cheap out.

ARTPOP is my favourite gaga album! It's a masterpiece! I bet there is no album like this in the history! It's not even an album. It's like a different world in itself ๐ only one thing that the CD I bought from Amazon is censored edition ๐ the original edition of the CD is so amazeballs๐ but it's okay cuz i just wanted the CD to complete my gaga collection!
