1-Gang Weatherproof Extension Adapter, Two 1/2 in. Threaded Outlets, Gray

I needed to add some electrical outlets high on the outside wall of our house for security cameras, so I decided to try this item. The reason I chose this out of the 4 or 5 available was simply price. I felt that if it didn't work or was of poor construction, I wasn't going to lose much money.The boxes are actually quite nice, and do what I needed them to do. Unthreaded grounding points are used quite often in electrical boxes, so I don't see that as a problem, in contrast to one of the other reviewers. The box is soft aluminum, so I simply drove a 10-32 grounding bolt into the hole. His solution using a sheet metal screw is also fine. The too-short screw is not a problem, as I see this all the time with electrical fixtures and keep my own supply of 6-32 bolts of different lengthsI do have a few criticisms:a. As the other reviewer noted, two of the castings for an EMT fitting are unthreaded, saving them money. I rarely use more than two EMT connection points, so this isn't an issue for me. If I need that, there are other extension boxes that have 4 or more threaded points. What I find to be a minor problem is that the casting is blocked off inside, not on the outside surface of the box. Thus, an exposed box would collect water in the rain, though it would not leak inside the box.b. I would like to have a white option in this item. I ended up spray painting these to match other outside boxes I have on the outside of my house.c. Some of these extension boxes have a flange around the side against the house, to allow for a better seal using a gasket. I would like to see this box with the same feature. It wasn't difficult to seal the thin edge against the outer surface of the house, however, using silicone.When I consider these, however, the fact that I can purchase 3 of these for the cost of a single extension box from some of the other manufacturers more than assuages my annoyance.I would recommend this box to anyone requiring a way to extend EMT from a flush external receptacle. I have ordered a double-gang version of this to try out for another problem seeking a solution.

I used this to connect conduit for outdoor motion sensor light. It did the job but the cost cutting on this really shows.1. There is only one hole on top and one on bottom. You can see the casting has room for four but two were sealed off and unusable. I wish it had hole on side of unit but no.2. No ground screw. There is a hole for ground screw but it is unthreaded. I had to use a self tapping screw to use.3. Came with 2" #6 screws. These were much too short for use on a stucco wall. I had to buy 3" screws and that length only came in #8 size. I had to drill a larger hole in adapter to fit.

Pro: Works as it should with enty of room for wiring.Con: A bit pricey, but the big box stores were out of stock.

If you need an open hack exterior box extension, this is perfect.
