Not too remote to work with DIP switches
I read all the reviews and I was troubled by how many people said they could not program the remote. I first bought one that had the right replacement number, but did not allow for DIP switches and Amazon made a refund. I have a Genie with DIP switches and I wasn't sure if it was a 9 code or a 12 code. I got out the old remote that was very inconsistent (Home Depot programmable Genie) and looked at the DIP switch locations. There were 3 positions, with + and - and one in the middle. This one only allows for + and -, but looked like those were all I needed. I set the switches after hitting the program button, The last 4 were all + so I guessed I had a 12 code. I clicked the I button 12 times, ( There are two buttons you can program I & II, This is not the program button where the DIP switches are) On the 12th click the garage door went up. I then waited and pushed the I button and nothing happened. I waited and hit the program button, and then clicked the I button 12 times and the garage door went down on the 12th click. I again waited and tried to get the remote to work by clicking the I button once. Again nothing happened. I got frustrated and thought I got a bad remote that will only work by programming it and clicking the I button 12 times to get the door to open. Then it hit me. You have to click the program button after you click the I button 12 times (for Genie). Then it goes out of configuration mode. After I did that it worked perfectly and all I had to do is hit the I button once and the remote works great. Good distance also. During my panic I discovered there is nothing to google to figure out which button is being refered to in the instructions. Good price and works great.

Straightforward and easy, but you should know about LED bulbs interfering with remote operation...
We received our remote controls quickly and in good shape. It was remarkably easy to program the controls for each of our two garage door openers (both Chamberlain, different models from early 2000's). The instructions were perfectly straightforward and clear and accurate to do this (I guess some other reviewers expressed problems with the directions with respect to their garage door openers). I had both remotes programmed to both garage doors in less than 15 minutes. The range is not huge (I am usually with 200 feet of my house when they respond), but I generally consider that safer as you should be able to see the garage door (and what may be near it) when operating it.The thing you should know: I ordered these remotes after my old garage door remotes seemed to stop working unless I was within five feet of the opener antenna itself, shortly after I did some small maintenance on the opener (changing light bulb, etc.). It turns out that the LED bulbs I used in the garage door opener enclosure created enough radio frequency (RF) interference that any remote was rendered useless when the light was on. I switched back to an incandescent (old school) light bulb, and my problem went away. If you have a sudden case of your remotes failing, and the garage door generally works when operated at the wall-mounted button, consider changing your light bulb to a standard incandescent or compact fluorescent and see if that solves the problem. I also understand there are some LED light bulbs that have technology to limit their RF interference.Still, I'm happy with the purchase of these remotes, and for me they worked well and were easy to program with my garage door openers.

Do not buy if you have two openers of the same brand
Before I retired I supplied the controllers for all Chamberlain / Liftmaster / Craftsman (they are all Chamberlain, just different cases, etc.) and my apps engineers did a reference design for them. I have two in this new house and the remote from my car does not work so bought this. Programmed #1 just fine, Then programmed #2, and #1 responds; it also responds to the #1 button. So reprogrammed (paired) both several times and not matter which one is programmed first the other one will respond to its button plus the other one. This is very dangerous; you can have one going up and the other going down as once. They are supposed to have two different headers in the sequence of numbers transmitted and it seems that the two are using the same header. Looks like the design, not just a bad unit. Stay away from this unit.If you had two different manufacturers it should be OK; different protocols.

Have had universal remotes that would not work, BUT this one did.
I am extremely happy with the JJ-RC-SM24-LT universal remote and their Customer Service.I was looking for a single remote for my visor which would replace the 2 remotes cluttering my visor. Needed a universal unit which would work with a late model Genie Intellicode, and an old-style dip switch controller for a garage screen. Ordered and received SM24 universal remote. Programing the dip switch unit was simple, however had a problem with the Genie unit. After several unsuccessful attempts I used the email address ([email protected]) provided in the programing instructions. I provided the information for my specific Genie Model 7155L-TKV. Happy to say a couple days later I received a response with some updated instructions which worked the first time. Only had to press the remote control 19 times, instead of 5 or 6 times as in the instructions.

Works well!
Works like it should. The buttons are possibly too easy to get a double tap, so when opening you can unintentionally stop the door. This might just be me getting used to a different opener.

Easy to set up works great
Ordered on a Sunday, got it on a Monday. Took less than 5 minutes to set it up following the instructions. Works as it should. Matches my interior way better than the old one I had and I wasn’t about to pay 300+ for Honda to put in a home link auto dimming mirror.Got it just in time too I guess because after setting it up and trying it several times. I was putting my old one with our other old one and tried it and it no longer works. Our other old one still works so didn’t have anything to do with the programming.
