Does this product really require a glass of water, or will it work with out the water?

Should be used with a glass of water so that the energy is absorbed by the water. Can cause issues with tester or microwave eventually

Do the lights stay light or do they go out after microwave stops..needing to know as I work on commercial microwaves and they don't have glass doors

BrianThe lights only come on when the microwave is operating.

Does the sticker need to be removed from the tester to avoid damage?

Not that I am aware of. I have used it for some time now with the sticker on.

How does it work? What does it test? What lights up when?

Not sure how it works but it senses if there are microwaves present. Just put it in, turn on the microwave and if all the lights start flickering off and on, the microwave is working. It’s a neat gadget because it only takes a couple of seconds to test the microwave rather then having to wait for a cup of water to heat to test if it works or not

Needs a load!? Why am I buying this?

This device should’ve came with a load instead of having instructions to add a cup of water. A cup of water would work just as well for my purposes without the need for this tool at all, but I wanted to see quickly if a microwave works without getting and heating a cup of water. I had someone stitch together a small bag of rice onto the Magic Lights tool. Now the tool is complete. It’s neat, it works, but it’s an incomplete tool, so only 4 stars.

It does what it’s supposed to do. It works very well. Never had any problems with this. I will recommend this to anybody who uses repairs for microwave or needs to know their unit is working properly.
