Detailer's Garage Optimum Gloss Coat 20cc Large Double Size

It's been over a week since I applied the Gloss Coat to my brand new car. Because I live in Wisconsin, I wanted to protect my car from the road salt that accompanies Winter driving. That was my main reason for getting it. So, after a lot of reading and research, I chose this product, applied it as directed and can comment on its early stages. So far, it's as advertised! 20 cc's did my entire car including the wheels, door jams, and under the hood. My car got its first wash, yesterday. I commute 100 miles every day driving to work, so the car collected quite a lot of bugs. I'm happy to report that with very little effort, the bugs washed right off. Washing, cleaning was a breeze. Here's my criticism: I wish Optimum would do away with the syringe container and just go with a small bottle! Several times when applying the Opti Gloss Coat to the pad, it would shoot out and sprayed unwanted glass or just fall to the ground. I wasn't trying to be careless. Quite the opposite. Hoping that the coating lasts for more than 2 years.

When we bought my wife a new car in 2014 we took it to a detail sho and had them put the professional version of opti-coat on the car and I was fully impressed. As someone who usually prefers to hand wax my cars I was skeptical but it’s been 5.5 years and Water still beads up like I just waxed it.When I bought my truck used 2 years ago I bought this consumer grade opti-coat to put on myself and 2 years later it also still beads up like it was freshly waxed. It has lasted longer than I expected and my truck sits outside 24/7. I also only used about half the tube so I have another whole coat left if I ever need it.

Excellent but takes some care. If you are a woodworker think of it as applying varnish on your car. Same prep and care.I have used this product before so had some experience with it. The version 2 seems to set up faster than the old version. So put this on in the shade on warm day. In about 2-3 minutes look to see if there are ANY build up spots or spots that haven't gone absolutely clear. Immediately lightly buff those out with a soft microfiber towel. (If you let it dry that way, you'll have to remove it with either a fine polish or a cleaning wax & then start over.)Have the vehicle perfectly clean & wipe down with something like Eraser before applying.

At first I was a bit anxious regarding the application of this product. After viewing countless YouTube videos and reading the optimum forums, I finally found the method which would be most appropriate for my situation. I used 7cc of product on completion and at first thought I did something wrong. However the car simply looked amazing! I couldn't believe that so little literally went a long way and the results were simply outstanding. The real whammy came when I decided to wash the following week. The water simply flowed off the coating and I think it looked even better after that wash (maybe because the car wash solution had a wax component). There is a lot of misinformation and poor reviews regarding the application. Most 'problems' can be avoided by following the instructions: use the isopropyl alcohol (15%) pre wash, apply product to one panel at a time, remove any excess with a microfiber towel after a couple of minutes of installation, allow to cure for 24 hours and sit back and bask at your masterpiece!

I love the product easy to apply and the gloss is in insane and as for the water it sheers off the car. Just make sure that you take the proper steps in washing, iron decon, claying and at least a one or two step DA polishing the results will amaze you.
