I absolutely love this book. It is a MUST for anyone in nursing school (or any medical profession), even if your program doesn't require it. As a student who barely reads any of her texts, that is a high compliment. It is a great reference book and would be an excellent tool when initially learning about the tests as well. The book lists many, many labs and gives you the normal and abnormal values, what could cause them to be too high or too low, and what you should do to treat the abnormal labs. I haven't used it much for the diagnostic testing part, but I have looked through it and it has everything. I imagine I will keep this book until it falls apart. I have told everyone I can in my program that they need this book. Seriously, I love it that much. If you are in nursing school, buy this book. I hate spending money on expensive textbooks, but this one... worth every single penny.

100% pleased with this book, it is full of great information for lab and diagnostic tests and as a nurse practitioner student, this has been an extremely valuable resource. I do not believe you would regret buying this. I have had other lab books before, and none of them were as well-presented as this one, this is truly by far my favorite. I plan to study the heck out of this before my boards, and brush up on my weak areas. Good book that explains labs as well as values. This book explains the procedures and what values to expect based upon certain pathology. I liked the way this book was organized as I felt that the color coding helped me easily flip between lab tests that I wanted to look up or needed to study. This book serves as a great reference especially as a physician assistant student.

Excellent of course but I'm partial to Mosby's as our preferred resource used at work; had to buy my own resource books for work with this new job and of course I bought what I'm accustomed to using. Superb format and layout with pics and info galore.

While flipping through the pages, it seems like it'll be a great resource. However, I do wish that I had realized there was a newer edition. I had put this on my wish list a while back and just finally ordered it from there. I'm not sure if there is a whole lot of difference between the 5e and the 13e. (I can't give 5 stars as I haven't actually used the book yet.) .

I bought this as the Kindle version and I love it. At the hospital I can pull it up on my phone, click on the value I'm looking for in the index and viola! Super easy to use, has the pediatric/neonate ranges, and is easy to read/understand! Super recommend!

i think it's the best book ever in lab science for nursing school. what i liked most is that it contains all the related lab tests for each body system and the common diseases

I am a physician and get a lot of use out of the Mosby Manual of Diagnostic and Lab Tests. Gives a lot of good information for each lab test including interfering factors, causes of abnormal results, etc. I would recommend this to any clinician who needs a lab reference book.

I bought this book as I saw it recommended for nursing staff. I think It is also suitable for laboratory staff. It gives a nice summary of lab tests.

Really great book, am doing my Masters in Nurse Practitioner and it's all here for you to find. Well written, easy access, wish it could do my degree for me!
