What do you want for 39 bucks? Works great.
This has a plastic frame which is flexible, and oddly enough that is a feature. When you are sharpening the chain, set it so it just barely touches the tooth and then flex this in to grind it just enough. Your chains will last through probably 20 sharpenings, unless you hit a rock that is!!I used to send my chains in for sharpening and they would remove like half the damn chain every time they sharpened it. You can pay for this thing pretty fast considering they were charging like 15 bucks to ruin my chains.

Works well, instructions indecipherable
You have to know what this machine is trying to do. It is well designed and sturdy, put an excellent edge on my R56 chain. It took forever to decipher the assembly and use instructions. When done it took 5 minutes to sharpen the chain. Better edge than new.

It's a $45 sharpener
Unit was complete. The only assembly was attaching the clamping cable to the chain guide and tightenjng the clamping handle down to the angle you like it. I did have to slightly bend the ratcheting chain stop for it to align perpendicular to the chain. I made a wooden base for it so that it can be quickly clamped to my workbench as i did not want it permanently mounted. All in all, I didn't mind the tweaking it took to get it ready for sharpening. It works great and was worth every penny.

Good for a home owner
It works great for what it is. It is perfect for me but I just have a couple chains to sharpen a few times a year. I dont think it would be so great if you have a lot of chains to sharpen all the time.
