Great value for money & does what it says it will. Not bad 4g reception for internal aerials.

I was on a spending splurge and made the regrettable decision to buy this device.In principle, it's a brilliant idea - you have an internet hub with which you can connect many devices to, it uses mobile data which if you have unlimited data and a good 4g signal you can use it as your main home broadband service. It also has Alexa built in so you would expect all the Alexa features to work.My plan was to use it as a backup broadband service for my house (I already have a virgin fibre optic line) and also to use it as the hub point to connect all my smart devices for controlling with Alexa. However, this device has a number of issues which essentially just make it a very expensive and not so smart speaker.The bad:- You cannot connect other Amazon smart devices to this device as a single point/hub, despite it having a built in router. I tried to connect smart plugs and smart bulbs with no success, but they connected fine to my virgin router.- the sound quality is good enough for me and the volume can get quite high, however, for sound aficionados though this isnt going to cut the mustard and you cant connect it to external speakers.- the smart features dont work, despite connecting my alexa account to the AICube when I ask it to turn off the light or turn off the electric heater it responds with the device was not found or is not responding - the reason being is it will only search for devices that are connected to the same network as the AICube - the ai cube has it's own wifi network which no other smart device can be paired to so essentially it will not communicate with any other smart device - I can see this is a technical issue which amazon could resolve, instead of alexa devices looking for devices on the same wifi network they could just send my request to the Amazon servers and process my command from there as the amazon servers are aware of all the devices I have, but until amazon changes the way the alexa devices work then the AI cube is going to remain a pretty dumb smart speaker.- Wifi range is not impressive at all, I have dead spots in my house as I get further away from the AICube- The internet speed is not great I get about 15-20mbps connected to 4g - although this could be just down to the 3 network though.The good- if you get good 4g signal then you could use this as your main home broadband and you can connect many devices to it - although note that you wont get full wifi coverage in your home if it is big- it's perfect for basic alexa features such as 'Alexa play some relaxing music' as it has it's own internet connection it just works. Or asking for the weather etc.- it has an ethernet port, this is great for sharing the internet for machines which may have broken wifi adapter, I had a pc where the wifi driver became corrupted so stopped working, I was able to connect the AIcube via ethernet to the pc meaning I was able to use the internet on the PC and download a new driver- eventually fixing the pc.- sound quality is decent and reaches a good volume at its highest point with very little distortion - the max volume is definitely loud enough to annoy your neighbours. If you are a bass junkie you will find this device lacking.Overall, I regret purchasing this as its ended up turning out to be a very expensive alexa speaker which i cant even connect all my smart devices to. If you want this as a broadband device with basic alexa commands then you may like this. If you want to use this as a full fledged alexa drive automating your home with smart features then I would suggest you look elsewhere.I give this 3 stars out of 5 as it at least provides some basic smart features and a backup internet connection.Update: 11/11/2019I am updating my review to 4 stars - I have very rarely turned off the AI cube since purchase and yesterday I turned it off and on to move its location - it seemed to do an update whilst it was turning on and now the alexa feature has suddenly started to work for my home devices, this is great and a great relief! Hats off to Huawei for releasing a very useful update although this really should have been there from the beginning.

I got this on contact with 3 & I've had it 6 months now much faster than a home broadband package unless your paying for fibre. Alexa works effortlessly sound quality is better than any other Alexa, Google home speakers ( this offer is by far cheapest, other seller is £230 & this is sold & fulfilled by Amazon GRAB IT AT THIS PRICE!! quality kit

This is a smart looking device and does just what we want in a property with no wired Internet connection. However, upon unpacking I found its power supply to be a European version with two pins. Hmm. No adaptor included. Hmm. Ok, so I found a shaver adaptor and that worked fine...the Cube booted up...and spoke to me in German! Ok, go to settings to find that German was the only option. Not good.But, while browsing the settings I noticed the device wanted to update it's software. Worth a try...and 'bingo!' ....a number of languages in the settings menu including English UK. Alexa now happily chats with me in English. Well, she did once I'd powered her down and back up again.

It didn’t work at all, so I’ve got nothing to review.Returned, got refund. Shame though as I really wanted it.

One of them was working great. I connected the Alexa function, had OK reception, decent speeds, etc. I purchased 2 of these devices from a different vendor, and non of them had the Ethernet cable (as in description sais). Does it actually have one? The 2nd one I got was extremely frustrating. I really hope Huawei will do something about it since is still under warranty.

Very slow speeds, less than half of an iPhone. Also the echo is useless. It doesn’t play any radio stations, won’t respond when asked to play any music or my music. Huawei make excuse after excuse. Blame network signal for slow speed and non responsive Alexa. I have an echo show connected to it that works perfectly, so why doesn’t the one on the ai cube, it’s because it’s useless and Huawei know it.Don’t waste your money on this piece of rubbish.

Da unser Kabel Internet nicht richtig funktioniert hat, waren wir auf der Suche nach einem neuen Vertrag, wobei DSL aufgrund der Anschlusszeit nicht schnell genug gewesen wäre. Deshalb sind wir letzten Endes bei LTE gelandet. Als ich den Markt für Router sondiert habe, bin ich auch über den AI Cube gestolpert, der aus dem Warehouse gerade Mal 70€ in wie neu Zustand gekostet hat. Der Empfang ist gut und für Cat 6 oder 7 LTE zahlt man sonst mindestens 100€. Die Geschwindigkeiten von unserem Vertrag werden erreicht und der integrierte smart speaker ist ein willkommener Zusatz. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass man den Router deshalb nicht "versteckt" aufstellen kann - ist aber auch kein Problem, da er ganz nett aussieht.

Super produit. Je l'ai acheté comme routeur 4g pour les vacances mais l'ai finalement branché à ma box car plus performant. J'envisage même de résilier ma box et de ne garder que mon abonnement mobile 200Go avec double sim.

Es un modem con Alexa incorporado, o un altavoz con modem. Sea como sea, en mi caso para una segunda residencia, funciona como modem principal, con el valor añadido de tener un altavoz de una calidad superior a un Echo 2 incorporado. El funcionamiento de Alexa es correcto sin más. Tiene buena sensibilidad, y te escucha desde cierta distancia. Sin embargo, si está reproduciendo música, le cuesta captar el comando "Alexa" más que a los otros altavoces de la familia Echo que tengo en casa. Las velocidades de conexión, aún sin tener antenas ni posibilidad de instalarlas, son similares a una Huawei B535.
